"You the flower that I gotta protect."

Her eyes fluttered open, lazily she stared up at me. "Hmm." Smiling, I ran my fingers through her hair.

"When you're ready, meet me on the beach. There's something I wanna show you," I whispered in her ear, giving her neck a quick kiss. She grabbed my hand, trying to pull me back to her.

"Nah, mamas, we'll never make it out the car if we keep playin'. Trust me, you're gonna wanna see this. Please," I said, kissing the back of her hand, earning a small huff in protest.

"Finee..." she whined, leaning up and adjusting her clothes.

I kissed the side of her head, laughing as I hopped out of the car. I couldn't wait to show her what I'd put together. It was the first time in a while that I'd done something like this—the whole date night, flowers thing. It had begun to feel like a chore more than a genuine act.

But for some reason, with her, everything felt like the first time. Hearing her voice, seeing her face, feeling her body, and that smile—it all made me want to do anything to keep her smiling like that.

Her eyes... the way she looked at me with... love? Nah, I was buggin'. But what was it? The look in her eyes made me feel things I thought had died in me long ago. The more I was around her, the more intense those feelings got.

I shook the thought from my mind. Tonight was about having fun. Nothin' heavy, just getting to know each other some more. You know, friends... friends who occasionally enjoyed sucking on each other's tongues. The small glimpses I stole of her flashed vividly in my head.

Head thrown back in pure bliss, legs spread wide with her cat on full display...

"Mmm." I licked my lips at the thought.

This was gonna be a long night.

I finished spreading out the rest of the rose petals across the sand. The pillows were placed all around the large black blanket with a canopy hung around it, giving us a small sense of privacy. Off to the side, there was a setup of different snacks and drinks to choose from, along with a candlelit steak dinner for two closer to the water. I hid her present under one of the pillows before giving everything a once-over.

Party's "Turn Up" played lowly in the background. I wanted everything to be perfect or damn near close to it.

...Alright, here she comes.

My fucking mind was BLOWN. Like... where did this nigga even learn to do some shit like that? Never—and I mean NEVER—have I EVER been done like that.

I sat in the car for a little minute, just trying to gather myself. My heart was still racing, and I could feel the aftermath of what just happened still tingling in my legs.
