No Mercy

"They say love makes you do crazy things. But for her? I'd cross every line, burn every bridge."

It was a rare rest day on tour, and everyone was trying to relax, but there was nothing chill about the vibe between me and baby. The tension was thick, like we were standing on the edge of something big. My patience was running on fumes, and Jade's silence about what was really going on was cutting me deep.

The rest of the crew was hanging around the tour bus lounge, clearly feeling the strain but keeping quiet. Chris, Jah, Jarad, and Stokeley exchanged glances, their usual jokes replaced with awkward silence. Even Koryn, who usually had something wild to say, was keeping it low-key. Everybody knew better than to ask what was up because the slightest thing could set me off.

She was sitting at the table, scrolling through her phone like it was her lifeline, avoiding my eyes. But I was over it. I needed answers, not this silent act she kept pullin'. I pushed off the wall, stepping up to her, my voice low but cutting.

"You gonna keep actin' like shit is sweet, or you finally gonna tell me what's got you shook?" I demanded, the frustration coming out raw.

Her eyes snapped up, wide for a second before she tried to brush it off. "Ain't nothin', Tripp. Just... tour stress, that's all."

I leaned in, dropping my voice lower but rougher. "Cut the shit, J. I ain't dumb. You been actin' jumpy as hell, lookin' over your shoulder like somebody about to get the drop on you. I peep everything, so don't try to play me like I'm slow."

The crew stopped what they were doing, eyes darting between us, tension thick as smoke. Without a word, Jarad and Stokeley moved toward the back, slipping behind the curtain. Chris shot a look to Jahseh, but Jah just nodded, signaling to leave it be. One by one, they drifted toward the bunks, leaving me and Jade in the middle of the storm that was about to hit.

Her jaw tightened, her fingers clenching around her phone. "I didn't wanna add to your plate, Tripp. You got enough to worry about."

"Add to my plate?" I repeated, my voice rising. "I'm your man, J! It's my job to protect you. How you gonna decide what I should know like that?"

Her eyes flashed with a mix of anger and fear, but I could see the tears threatening to spill. "You don't understand, Tripp! This isn't just some minor shit. It's Tye. He's been trying to get back in my life."

That name hit me like a damn bullet to the chest. The blood drained from my face, replaced by a surge of rage that burned through me, making every muscle tense up. I stepped back, fists balled so tight my nails dug deep into my palms, drawing blood.

"When the fuck were you gonna tell me?" I growled, my voice low and deadly. "When he was knockin' at the front door, J?"

The crew had dipped into the bunks, sensing the heat of what was about to go down. Koryn, even though she stayed in the cut, was usually quick to jump in, held back, watching me and Jade with a mix of concern and anger in her eyes. But she didn't move closer; she knew this was between us.

Jade slowly rose from the table, her voice shaky but trying to hold strong. "I didn't want you to do something reckless, Tripp! I know you too well. I know how far you'd go for me, and I couldn't let that be on my conscience."

"That ain't your call to make!" I shouted, my voice bouncing off the narrow walls. "You really think I'd let that nigga just come for you? Hell nah, J. You know that's not how I move."
