Cheryl's POV
Cheryl lifted her head quickly and kicked the comforter off of her body. She had been dreaming that she was being completely wrapped up in a large plastic tarp, just like the ones currently covering her restaurant floors. In her nightmare, the construction workers who had been at Marjorie's for the last few days were sick of her and decided to smother her and then dump her into the Atlantic. She made a mental note to offer them free meals and drinks as long as they were there to keep herself from being suffocated or drowned, or both.It wasn't until she was able to re-regulate her breathing when she noticed that Toni wasn't in bed with her. She looked at the iHome on her nightstand and saw that it was a few minutes before Toni usually woke up and she wondered why she wasn't still in bed. And she wasn't in the bathroom either, because the door was slightly ajar and the lights were off inside. She slipped out of bed and threw on a pair of underwear and Toni's long-sleeved Cornell shirt she had on the day before. She wondered why she never wore it before because it was so comfortable. She had plans of owning it as she finished rinsing out her mouth and left the bedroom to find her wife. Sure enough, the wavy brunette was leaned against the back of the coach and Cheryl could see that she was holding up a book.
She walked around the couch and saw Toni reading Veronica's book with an intense focus. Her lips were moving slightly like she was reading along and her eyes were squinted. Cheryl shook her head because her reading glasses were perched at the top of her head instead of sitting on her nose where they belonged. But still, Toni looked ridiculously adorable sitting cross-legged on the couch with her book and Cheryl got the sudden urge to attack her. So she did. Cheryl jumped on top of the brown-eyed woman, knocking her over onto her side, and buried her face into the side of her neck.
"Cher! What are you doing?"
"I'm attacking you." She placed several light kisses on her neck much to Toni's dismay.
"Get off!"
"No, I just want to love you." Toni started to wriggle free and Cheryl wrapped all of her limbs around her warm body, stunting any attempt to free herself.
"It's too early!"
"Shut up Toni. Just let me love you."
"No! You're insane!" Somehow, Toni got free and threw her off her back and onto the couch. Her wife stood up and took off for the kitchen.
"Get back here and love me!" Cheryl shouted as she gathered herself and followed after her. Once Toni realized she was right behind her, she wrapped around the counter and headed up the stairs.
"Stop being a lunatic! It's barely eight in the morning!"
Toni was too fast for Cheryl and she got to the bathroom and locked the door before Cheryl even made it into the bedroom. She rested her forehead against the door and banged her fist on it gently. "Toniiiiii," she whined. "Why do you have to make everything so difficult!"
"You're the one attacking people in the morning."
"I wouldn't have attacked you if I knew you would willingly accept my love. So really this is your fault.""I'm going to take a shower, you psycho."
"Fine, but you can't stay in there forever! You'll have to accept my love eventually!"
The shower turned on and Cheryl could no longer hear if Toni was saying anything. She huffed and went back downstairs to eat something. Running around the house this early really built up an appetite. She looked into the fridge and frowned when there was nothing already pre-made for her to eat. She settled on cereal, because she was far too tired to put in any kind of actual effort for breakfast. She dumped some Cocoa Krispies into a bowl and poured way too much milk so she could have the chocolate milk after. She did their daily survey as she munched on her cereal.
