Cheryl's POV
Cheryl heard Toni's alarm and immediately tapped her on the cheek for her to turn it off. Her wife groaned and turned over to turn off the ringing noise. Once the room was silent again she attempted to roll over onto her side, away from Toni, and felt Toni's arm immediately wrap around her. It was weird because Toni was sleeping on her back and she usually didn't just switch positions that quickly. Even weirder was that it was Toni's right arm.She rubbed her eye and again felt Toni's hand brushing against her chest and chin. "What the hell?" She opened her eyes and saw a metal bracelet around her wrist. But not the bracelet Veronica gave her, this one was thicker...and had a chain...that was connected to Toni.
"How the fuck?" she asked out loud, sitting up in bed.
"Cher, stop pulling on my arm," Toni whined, trying to pull her arm back, but only pulling Cheryl closer in the process.
"I'm not, we're handcuffed to each other."
"How are we handcuffed to each other?" Toni asked, sitting up now too.
"Well the way handcuffs work is that there are two rings linked to a chain. I have one ring around my wrist, and you have the other around your wrist."
"Thank you for the technical definition sweetheart," Toni answered sarcastically. It was slightly muffled by her yawning. "What I meant was how did we become handcuffed to each other?"
"That's a really good question that I don't know the answer to."
"Alright well can you find the key so we can get out of this now?"
"Sure, let me just..." she trailed off to check her nightstand where she had left the keys the night before. The only things she saw were the half-empty bottle of icy lubrication and her phone connected to the charger. "That's weird."
"What's weird?" Toni asked, looking slightly panicked.
"Don't freak out, but I can't find the key."
"What do you mean you can't find the key!? You just had it last night!"
"I'm well aware of that Toni. Stop yelling at me."
"I'm not yelling, I'm just a little confused as to how you lost the keys!"
"That counts as yelling! And I know I had them but I obviously misplaced them!"
Toni tried to rub her temples, but Cheryl jerked her hand back to keep her wife from being dramatic. "Cheryl, we both have to go to work today. We can't do that if we're handcuffed to each other.""Yeah, no shit Sherlock. Tell me something I don't know."
"I was the one that broke the ceramic centerpiece that you made in junior year of college."
Cheryl gasped. "The abstract statue? Why?"
"I was really high and I knocked it over. Plus that thing was hideous so...yeah. I'm not sorry."
Cheryl punched her and Toni punched her back. They glared at each other before they started smiling and eventually laughing. They ended up leaning against each other in hysterics for no reason at all.
"Oh my God, what's wrong with us?" Cheryl asked once they settled down.
"Nothing at all. I think we're perfect."
"I'd kiss you right now if I didn't have morning breath."
"One of these days you're going to get over that," Toni declared.
