Not knowing what to say had suddenly become a norm. She was speechless yet again, and stood, staring, wide-eyed, with not a word to explain what she was seeing.

The male stood before her, almost daunting in his height, dark, yet not brooding. Rather, he seemed at ease, as though he had seen her once, or maybe more than once, before. Though she could not verbalise his description, her thoughts were enough to outline him. His hair, almost chestnut in shade, was a mass of curls, yet they were looser than they initially seemed, outgrown, sweeping across his eyes, and she fought the urge to sink her fingers into them. His skin was pale, freckled, but without flaw. His eyes were the colour of green smoke, deep and enrapturing. The brows that framed them were straight, and full. His nose was straight, high-bridged. His jaw was sharp, his facial structure pointed, his cheekbones high. His lips were full, pouty, and a soft pink. He seemed almost too perfect to be real, to be human, but rather like a China doll, instead. He was taller than her, but then again, they all were. Her head was just about level with his collarbones, or perhaps, if pushed, his shoulders. He gave her the impression that he laughed not often, but long. He tilted his head slightly, and his curls flopped over his face, making him look puppy-like, endearing. She scowled, looking away.

"Who are you?"

"You mean to say you don't remember me?" she flushed, fidgeting. Was she meant to have recalled his features? Of course, there was an air of familiarity to him, but not what she knew well. "No-" he shook his head, tsking. "You don't recall? How upsetting, given the positions we have ended up in, and me myself, being better than everyone."

"We what...?" he shook his head again at that, chuckling. "I can't lie, they were compromising."

"What are you saying? I feel confused."

"Think of your dreams. Every dream from the last four months." and as he murmured the words, her mind flashed back. Oh... And it all came back. Night after night of what seemed to be another version of her life. A better life. One where expectations were but a distant nightmare, and the rules which entrapped her were from another land.

"Well, you seem like you've been hit by a lightbulb." she blinked at him. "Uh-uhm yeah. I remember now." He clapped, sarcastic. "Well done sweetheart, well done."

"So, uh, what now?"

"In the books, you'd usually have, I don't know, thrown yourself at me by now. You know, long lost lover reunion or something?"

"I don't even remember your name." he laughed then, soft and genuine, before shrugging. "Work it out yourself."

"I? GIVE ME SOMETHING TO WORK WITH!" he tapped the side of her head, shaking his own. "You're supposed to have good memory. Use it."

"B-but I-"

"Mhm?"

"I DON'T KNOW! I'M STUCK!"

"Then be stuck till you figure it out yourself."

"I thought you were gonna be nice."

"I don't ever remember promising that."

"Your memory is trash." it was almost frightening how it was coming back to her now, it was so easy to talk to him; an old friend. "I remember everything."

"And what exactly is everything that you remember?"

"You. You're everything." And he'd successfully managed to shock her into speechlessness again, this time, with his words. "I- Uh- You-" And she watched as a smile took over his face, slowly growing, with what seemed to be the beginnings of a blush resting on his cheeks. Which caused her to respond in kind. "Huh, you're cute."

"You what?"

"Nothing."

"Okay, uh. Why would I be everything?"

"You really don't remember, do you?" His face fell, oh-so-slightly. "I-"

"Never mind. I'll let it come to you, or something."

"Wait, Daniel-" And then he whipped back towards her, his eyes wide. "My name..."

"Did I get it wrong?"

"No, you- how did you remember it? You couldn't just now-"

"Your face. I don't know what but the look in your face, wait. Did you say 'LOVER'?"

"Yeah?" she stood, frozen, blinking. "Can't you- dumb question."

"Come closer." his brow furrowed. "What?"

"I asked you to come closer." And when he did so, she kissed him, pressing her lips to his by leaning up onto her toes. And he brought her closer, and held her secure, his lips a bruising pressure against hers.

And then she remembered.
