The Things We Miss

"Lucifer."
"Hmmn?"
"You are, gorgeous."
"What ever are you trying to achieve, Astoria?" A raised eyebrow. "Nothing. I'm just appreciating your beauty." I shrug, innocently. "Perhaps. Yet life with Mammon has led me to be naturally suspicious of such flattery. However, let us deviate back to our topic. Have you seen yourself, my love?"
"Y-your love- ahem- yes, this very morning."
"And?"
"And...and what?"
"What did you see?"
"Two boringly brown eyes, a somewhat shapely nose, an overly plump bottom lip, two shaped brows too dark for their own good, skin the colour of caramel cookie dough."
"Interesting. Now, let me tell you what I see."
"Uhm, alright."
"Two eyes the colour of dark chocolate, that seem to lighten and melt when you love, or are soft. A nose that is sloped, and shapely, with the best side profile. A completely kissable mouth, a bottom lip pouty, tuggable, biteable. Two perfectly shaped brows, no need for that cosmetic plucking, full dark lashes, long, but no so much curling. Skin the colour of caramel cookie dough, smooth, sprinkled with the merest layer of cocoa; without flaw." I stare at him, gaping. He leans across, and pushes my chin up, closing my mouth. "Well?"
"Well- now- you're - you're the one flattering me!"
"Perhaps, but they are mere truths." I pout at him. "What, is that not enough 'simping' for you, darling?"
I sputter in disagreement, hitting him. "Ouchy." And then, I stare. "...Ouchy..?" He grins, wickedly. "I may have picked it up from Asmodeus."
"I - it's unexpected, but it's cute."
"It also catches you off guard."
"What?" And, he seems to take that as an invitation to kiss me, his lips gentle, yet insistent. I blink at him when he pulls back, shocked. "I love you." He murmurs affectionately, stroking my cheek. I smile. "I love you, too."

so for this i did take some slight inspiration from the game Obey Me, which is where Lucifer and Asmodeus' characters are loosely based on.
