"IM NOT GOING TO SCHOOL, THANKS THOUGH." xiomara yawned, waving gavin away.

she had slept over at gavin's house (in his guest bedroom, of course) the night before, after erika dropped her off.

"why not?"

"because i don't want to?" she answered in a 'duh' tone.

however, the truth was, she wasn't going to school simply because she knew that if she didn't, gavin wouldn't. and she did not need to risk somebody showing gavin the video at school and him finding out her secret.

"oh," gavin nodded, "i'll stay here with you then."

"if you want to that bad." she rolled her eyes playfully.

"i do." gavin said, sitting on the bed next to mara.

"corny."

"stop saying everything is corny!" gav laughed.

"i don't say that everything is corny! it's just that everything you say is corny."

"or maybe you're just judgemental."

"no i'm not! i don't judge anyone."

"oh?" gavin raised both of his eyebrows, "really?"

"yes, really. i don't."

"whatever you say,"

"FUCKING STOP. WE'RE WATCHING SHAMELESS." xiomara said, cuddled up to gavin on his living room sofa.

"but what if i don't want to watch shameless?"

"then that's just too fucking bad." xiomara scoffed, beginning to play the movie on netflix.

the unofficial couple went through two episodes of shameless before mara got a facetime from erika. rolling her eyes, she paused the show and answered.

"what?"

"oh," erika sighed in relief, "you're okay."

"yeah, why wouldn't i be?"

"you aren't at school, so gia and i got worried. we thought you might've-"

xiomara's eyes went wide, realizing what erika was about to say, "totally, yeah, well i'm fine. i'm just here with gavin."

she practically shoved her phone camera in gavin's face. "hi, erika."

erika's mouth made an 'o' shape, "oh, hey gavin. um alright then glad to know you're okay. bye."

with that, erika hung up.

"that was.. weird." gavin spoke.

"no it wasn't. how?"

"nevermind."

"thats what i thought."

XIOMARA WALKED out gavin's front door. she had just received a text from gia saying that they were going to re-ice the body, and erika would pick her up in a few minutes.

"where are you going?" gavin asked, following her outside.

"to hang out with erika and gia." she looked at the end of the street impatiently.

"and do what?"

"none of you business, damn." xiomara snapped.

erika's car pulled up into gavin's driveway.

"okay, got to go, bye." mara waved goodbye to gavin.

"can i go too?"

"no."

"why not?"

"because i fucking said so."

gavin rolled his eyes.

okay, sassy boy. xiomara thought.

"i am done with you being rude to me." gavin spoke. "that's all you are; rude. no matter how good i treat you, you give me nothing in return."

"okay, and? anything else you want to say?"

"and," he looked her up and down, "your pants are a different shade of pink from your shirt, and your shoes make no sense with the rest of your outfit."

"oh?" xiomara scoffed, "of course you, of all people, are trying to give me fashion advice. bitch you were wearing denim on fucking denim yesterday, yet i didn't say anything."

gavin just shook his head.

it was just then when xiomara realized that she needed gavin to stay with her so that he would go to prom with her.

"i'm sorry."

"i don't accept your apology."

"bitch i just apologized? how many times have you heard me apologize before?"

gavin thought for a moment, "you're right. i do accept your apology."

"that's what i thought. get in the car slut."

"really?"

"mhm. or don't, your choice." mara shrugged.

she sat in the backseat of erika's car, when a second later gavin sat next to her.

erika and gia were looking at mara like she was crazy. sighing, gia faced forward in her seat and texted xiomara.

gia| what are we supposed to do now???

xiomara| just go to mcdonald's or something idfk my body can wait

gia| no it literally can't but okay.

gia showed erika the texts.

"actually, never mind." xiomara said out loud, causing both erika and gia's heads to snap to her, "go to the place where we were going to go."

gavin was visibly beyond confused.

"what?" erika asked.

"yeah."

"but- are you sure?"

"mhm. i shouldn't keep lying to gavin. that's how relationships get better." xiomara crossed her arms, half mocking him and half being completely genuine.

"what is going on?" gavin asked. "and why is there so much ice in the back? i noticed that but i didn't say anything until just now."

"you'll see."
