|Arthur's POV|
Jet black darkness surrounds me as I rest against the freezing ground. The aetheric chains that have been keeping me alive for the past century...centuries?? pulsates with a lavender glow, while the runes that are engraved into every chain link glow ethereally in the dark.
The world around me is empty. Barren, cracked and dry land spans for miles, while the black sky above held no stars. No moon. There is no viable source of light here. No life here.
That's why this purgatory is called "The Tombs".
A place even my demon kind fear.
Because despite it not having a single damned thing here, the silence is unbearable. So much so that it drives you insane. There is no sense of time here. Everything in the realm stays the same and is the same as it was when it first came into existence.
This place is older than all the other three realms combined.
A place of nothingness.
Solitude and repentance.
What would I be repenting for? Loving a being that is the exact opposite of my existence? She was the only thing that gave me the will you live. Why would I regret ever meeting her??
Why couldn't they just let us be?
What did we do wrong??
..why does it hurt so much???*Crack*
'What was that?' My thoughts finally slowed down as I peeled my eyes open with much effort. Having your eyes closed for over a century would do that to you.
Nothing but black.
*Crack*
Then what is that sound? Nothing here makes noise. Not even the wind.
*Crack*
It was then that my eyes narrowed in on a white streak in the sky above. It almost looked like a small rift. Though, as I continued to lay motionlessly on the frozen ground, more of these tears started to form, shifting the sky into a peaceful kind of chaos.
It should've scared me, but I didn't have enough energy to care. And as many more moments pass, the white glow only got bigger until it encases this entire world, and the cold feeling of being trapped in the void of purgatory finally fades.
I let my eyes close once more, feeling the warmth of this light surround me.
I felt tears fall at the feeling of peace as I slowly fell blissfully unconscious.

My face scrunched up from the sudden light. Slowly, I open my eyes, only to close them again at the intense light burning my retinas. The sounds around me bombard my ears as I try to pull my wits together.
Opening my eyes again, I glance around before pulling my aching body into a sitting position. Around me, trees grew tall and sturdy, while a thick fog covered the ground. The light of the sun sprinkles through the canopy of leaves above, while the rustling sounds of what I could only assume where animals could be heard.
