|Arthur's POV|

Turning to my side, I lay a hand gently on Tessia's shoulder. Shaking her a bit and watched as her silver brows furrowed in discontent. She mumbled a bit in her sleep before her emerald eyes cracked open.

"Tess, come on, we're here." I said softly as she sits up, rubbing her eyes before she looks around the carriage. Her eyes then shoot open widely from their half closed state as excitement takes over. She grabbed my hand in a semi-tight hold before pulling me up and suddenly bolting out of the carriage door with me in tow.

I could hear gramps chuckle at her sudden blast of hyper energy, watching us with a softened expression as he too, steps out of the carriage. She comes to a halt at the green, wooden front gates of what I could only imagine to be a house, her eyes convey the utter elation she feels as she waits eagerly for her grandfather to come forward.

As he walks to the forefront, his casual attitude all but disappeared as I watched in shock while he slams his right root into the wooden gate with the force of a rearing horse.

"Come on out up old hag! I know that you know we are already here!!" He yells and steps back just as the gates slam open, revealing a less than amused older lady. She glared holes into gramps as she points an old wrinkled finger at him in accusation.

"My ears work just fine you decrepit old man!!If you break my doors down, you're paying to get them replaced!!!" At her deleterious glare, gramps simply lets out a laugh whilst watching as the old woman fumes.

"Arthur, this is an old friend of mine, Rinia. She can help you hopefully track down your parents." He introduces as he calms down from the earlier banter of he and his old friend. As I gazed over at Rinia, I felt an odd sense of familiarity even though this was my first time meeting her. The old elf had wild silvery white hair that fell down her back in curly, soft waves. Her completion rather pale, with wrinkles that projected her old age. Yet, it was her eyes that left me subtly stunned.

Her eyes were a mixture of colors, ranging from vibrant reds, to vast turquoise blues and greens. All those colors swirled around aimlessly within her orbs, seemingly having a purpose for such vast, vibrant array of colors.

Her eyes settled on Tessia, and the ever present scowl that was plastered on her face only moments ago, was immediately replaced with a soft, grandmotherly smile as she opened her arms just in time to catch Tess in her hold. The scene was utterly heartwarming, to the extent that it made me ache whilst reminding me of my own family, which I seemed to have brought ruin to. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted nothing to do with me, after all, I am the one that basically got them all exiled.

My attention is quickly brought back to the present as Rinia looks over at me, her eyes widening for a split second before she turns, calling out for us to follow. I push my thought aside as Tess grabs my hand yet again, walking at my side, practically skipping along with the most adorable carefree smile on her face.
