COTE: Koenji What if

Vol. 1 Chapter 10.1 - Expulsion

Before lesson started, I went to Koenji.

"Yo Koenji, why have you been hanging around with the rest of the classes a lot?"

"Oh? Well there has been something I have been trying to investigate, let's just say someone class B in particular has caught my interest."

"I see, well good luck with your investigation." Hopefully he doesn't mean he is trying to date someone. Although I thought only senior girls were his interests. Strange.

After entering into homeroom, Chabashira walked in, but with a weird look to her, like she was disturbed by something.

"Everyone, I unfortunately have terrible news."

"One of the students of this school, this class, has been expelled. Kushida Kikyou."

The class erupted into chaos.

"W-what, surely the school made a mistake right?" Ike shouted.

"Take me instead!" Yamauchi cried out.

"As a result of Kushida's expulsion, 300 class points has been deducted from this class. Furthermore, due to this class not having over 300 class points, any class points gained later on will be deducted until the class points are compensated."

"Excuse me, but why was Kushida expelled?" Hirata asked. He looked in shock.

"She falsely accused someone of rape, and attempted to forge evidence to do so. She was caught with video and audio evidence. The student council president personally advised for a permanent expulsion as well." Chabashira elaborated.

"Naturally, I wouldn't disclose who exactly was the one she assaulted with the claim." She then looked at me for the briefest second before shifting her gaze back to the class.

The consequences for expulsion are dire. Horikita looked in shock, thinking that the likes of Sudou, Ike and Yamauchi's expulsion would have set us far back into the negative nine hundreds.

The class broke down into even more chaos. For someone like Kushida who has built up such a positive reputation, hearing about this was a huge shock.

This will be a huge blow to the class in the short term. But in the long term it is for the better. If Kushida was that careless with going after Horikita, she probably would have been willing to get rid of Horikita despite the risks to herself. It was only a matter of when, not if Kushida gets caught.

"Please choose who to trust your classmates more wisely. Class D is full of defects, after all." Chabashira said and left abruptly. Was she trying to incite discord in this class on purpose?

Hirata chose to get up to the podium.

"Everyone, I know that situation sounds bad. I can understand. It was a huge surprise to me to. But we can't let it get to our heads, everyone." Hirata said.

But the reception wasn't good. People didn't look at Hirata with appreciation like they usually did when Hirata went to the podium.

"Hey Hirata? Are you also like that fake b**** too?" Ike shouted out. His heart was understandably crushed, as Ike had a crush on Kushida.

Quite a few members of the class started to begin to see Hirata as possibly like Kushida. After all, Hirata was like the boy version of Kushida in our class. Excellent academics, great physical abilities, and great social skills, wanting to protect everyone.

The mysteries of class D are starting to unfold.

"I can assure you that I am not. But, if that will make things better, then direct your anger at me everyone." Hirata was self-sacrificing for the sake of the class.
