~chapter 29 : here's the thing~

~Y/N's pov~

I sat contently at my desk, the last 10 minutes of history class going far too quickly than I would have liked. The thin hands of the clock on the wall were moving at a rapid pace and seemed to be getting faster, even if I was just imagining it.

I looked to my teacher and read the notes they were jotting on the white board, writing down any I thought I might need in the future. As my eyes wandered, returning to the ticking device on the wall above the door, my time had shortened down to five minutes.

My nerves are spiked and my fists are squeezed tightly under my desk. I need more time.

In approximately twenty minutes from now, I will be standing in a room with somebody I've never met, who also has ties with my father, trying to bribe them with a wad of cash to let me leave every time they're supposed to be teaching me violin.

It's a great deal for them, don't get me wrong, I doubt that they'll be put off by getting paid for doing nothing, and extra from me at that. However my father picks his friends carefully.

I know that my fathers friends are loyal to him, whether it be because they're scared of him, work with him, or want his money, they all contain some form of loyalty, so will they waver for the money, or just shoot me down and get me in trouble with father?

*Ring*

The school bell chimed, indicating that history class was over, and it was time for me to go. My classmates are mostly minding their own business and have been since the whole Sarah thing died down. It was ignored after one of the older kids nudes got leaked. Most of them are busy packing away their stuff and getting home anyway.

I swipe my hands over my desk, lifting any of my things and placing them into the correct spot in my backpack that now sat in my chair. I sling the bag onto my back and slot my other arm into the second strap before exiting the classroom.

Walking through the corridor leading to the front door was stressful. You can't get anywhere without being pushed and shoved every couple of peaceful seconds due to the excessive numbers of hormonal teens that just want to go home.

When I finally manage to exit the building, I turn in the opposite direction of my home, trekking along student filled streets. My pace is fast, wanting to get as early as possible to bribe my new 'teacher' so that I can leave asap.

This can either go terribly wrong, or terribly right, there's no inbetween. Ah well, you can't succeed if you don't even try.

It doesn't take long for me to stray from the students who were walking in the same direction as I was, due to my fast pace

Soon enough it was just me, the low whistle of the wind and the sound of my own footsteps.

The building of my destination finally came into view and my steps began to slow as the nerves I managed to push away returned.

As I walk up the concrete steps up towards the large and elegant doors of the music auditorium, someone waits at the door looking directly in my way.

The woman had beautiful, inky-black hair with curls that bounced in the low wind. She had great posture and long legs, making her height tower over mine.

The undertones of her sepia cheeks and nose gained a slight pink tint from the cold and her arms were folded with raised shoulders to shelter her hands from the breeze of the cold weather.

I thought she looked as though she was in her twenties, but I couldn't be certain.

She slowly approached me and asked in a soft voice, "You must be Y/N, correct?"
