Tuffnutt Thorston

"I didn't even get to kiss her."

"What are you talking about?" Astrid asked, while Ruffnut held a finger and pointed out the obvious, "She's lying right there."

"Yeah, you know she's not dead, right?" Hiccup questioned Tuffnut's sanity.

"I know! But what if she did?"

"She didn't. And you will get the chance," Fishlegs comforted.

"What if she can hear you right now?" Snotlout pondered.

A groan of, "I can," came from the mess of twisted blankets, and pillows. Then Ska'i bolted upright, "Wait, I'm still here. On the island. What happened? Did you throw the stone -?"

Hiccup awkwardly held up a finger, and suggested, "Um, I can go first. Well, we were busy fighting the Dragon Hunters with your people, when Tuffnut here swoops by and yells at me to go out to sea because you're drowning. I fly out there, and I don't see anything at first. Then Ruffnut pops out from the water, and says -."

Here, Ruffnut interrupts him, "I yell at him that he better get Toothless down here, to help pull the cage up. And this guy ignores me completely, to fly back to shore!"

"Only because I knew it was made out of Dragonproof metal! I had to find Fishlegs; he's the one who carries the kind of stuff that could help get you out."

"He finds me, and I of course hand my stash of it over to him," Fishlegs continues the story. "Toothless is the fastest dragon we have, so he takes it back in an instant."

"We dive back in, and you were already unconscious," Hiccup continued. "I poured Changewing acid on the damaged latch, Toothless grabs you, and we shoot out of the water."

Here, Ska'i put up her hands to make him pause his story. " 'Changewing acid?' "

"It's from a different kind of dragon," Fishlegs explained. "Uh, they're like chameleons; they can change their scales, to blend in their surroundings. And they shoot out a type of acid that burns through what seems like anything, including Dragonproof metal cages!"

"Right, I need to know what those cages were made out of!" Ska'i exclaimed.

"Oh, it's some type of Gronkle Iron," Snotlout clarified almost dismissively. "Your dad - Chef Puw - has already asked about it."

"And I'm going to talk to him about how your people can forge some, on the island!" Fishlegs put a finger to his chin. "At the very least, I'm thinking 'huts on stilts.' "

"Hey, that rhymes!" Ruffnut pointed out with a laugh.

"Then your warrior healer rushed over, to pump the water out of your lungs. But you were so exhausted, that you wound up passing back out," Astrid finished that part of the story.

Tuffnut spoke up, "and I tried to fly over the volcano to drop the stone in as you told me, but it blew some type of thick, liquid fire out the top!"

"Uh, yeah, that's what volcanos do," Fishlegs explained. "And I believe it's called 'lava.' "

"Okay, well, I didn't know that," he mocked him. "And I also didn't know what the stone was gonna do either, but did what you said, and tossed it in as best I could. Then a huge amount of steam immediately began to shoot out, and the volcano seemed to stop doing its thing. When I flew back to the beach, you were unconscious on the shore."

"Yeah, he was really relieved," Astrid teased him.

As Tuffnut and Ska'i blushed, they were thankful for Ahue's perfect timing. There was going to be a celebration of the survival of our island, and its people, "with the help of our guests, the Dragon Riders."

"Awesome, a feast!" Snotlout claimed with enthusiasm.
