"And the fox and the hound lived happily after.. the end" Cedric exhaustingly snorted, closing the book in the process as he stood to his feet "There's that, Princess Sofia. Have a good night now"
Cedric smoothly turned around to the door, but before successfully taking another step, his hand was caught by something from behind. He turned around, and he was currently being held by someone laying on the bed
"But you promised you would sleep here.." A soft voice hummed from behind. A certain tone that he knew damn well"I said I would stay here to help you sleep... not sleep here" Cedric angrily clarified
"Same thing~" a smile forms on her lips as she opened her eyes to him "You know bad things happen to those who don't keep their promises... right?"
Looking at her was difficult for Cedric. The way her gaze landed upon him was like she can see him transparently. He didn't want to spend another second in this place
Cedric wants to go home.
And by home, he meant his nice comfy tower.
"Fine..." he blurted, sitting back to his original position at the chair beside her bed
"You're the best, Mr. Ceedric~" Sofia closed her eyes, smile staying on her lips as her hold on his hand tightens more
Cedric looked around as he waited for Sofia to finally sleep. Moving slowly, he didn't want to cause even a mere whisper of noise that might wake her up and ruin his escape plan.
He looked at his hand, and she was still clenching it quite tightly. For such a small girl, her grip sure is strong..
A few moments later, and a series of breaths can be heard from the princess. This brought joy to the Sorcerer's face for he was already getting bored of sitting in that chair and watching her sleep
He slowly leaned closer to Sofia to check if she was indeed already asleep... and she was.
Without hesitation, Cedric arched from his seat and prepared to leave. He inhaled and exhaled first before finally lifting his back off the chair to tiptoe out her room
One more step, and Cedric was already cheering internally. Nothing like home sweet home back in his workshop where he can finally relax without someone to watch every move that he does.
But as he was about to leave, somehow a voice was echoing inside of him. It was her voice "You promised, Mr. Ceedric.."
"And bad things happen for those who break their promises..."
His eyes widened and froze on the spot. His grip on the knob loosens up as the guilt has made his way to him. He was inches away out of the room... yet, he was inclined to stay
He didn't want to break Sofia's heart.
And with this, Cedric slowly turned back around and made his way to the seat. He sighed to himself with the choice he did as he leaned his back on the chair.
Just then, a smile forms on the sleeping princess's lips
"I knew you wouldn't break your promise, Mr. Ceedric~"
Somehow, the Sorcerer could've sworn he heard something coming from the sleeping Sofia... but perhaps it was just his imagination and exhaustion taking a toll on him. Looking at her, she was sleeping sound and peaceful. She looked like an innocent angel in that moment
He didn't quite know, but all this over thinking has made him quite... comfortable. A sudden yawn came out of him... and before you know it, his eyes was already closed
"Goodnight, Princess Sofia" he slowly caressed her hair as he yawned one more time before finally falling to his slumber on the chair

With the chirping of the birds, Cedric's eyes slowly opes as he saw a certain pair of birds chirping and hovering in front of him. He slowly arched his back, but unfortunately, he couldn't.
He then remembered that he slept on Sofia's room last night... and whatnot. As he turned to Sofia's bed, for some reason, she wasn't there.
She probably got up already... he might as well do the same
He wanted to move, but he couldn't. What is keeping him in place?
But then, he finally noticed the weight on his lap and abdomen upon slowly coming out of the slumber daze. He then gathered his courage to slowly peek what was under the blanket that was on him
Could it be a monster? Or a gremlin... or even a vampire?
His imagination was running wild, and as he finally managed to see what was inside. His horrified expression turned into a disgruntled frown
He sighed...
"Poseidon's Pumpkins, this is worse than a monster.."
His body became a small comfy bed for the certain monster currently clinging on him sleeping safe and sound. The monster then slowly woke up from her slumber and opens her eyes to him.
An innocent smile slowly forms on her lips..
"Good Morning, Mr. Ceedric~"
