dustin decided it was time to let in erica on what happened last year and the ear before, as they sat in the vents wondering what their next move was. the only thing erica was surprised about was the fact that her brother was part of the whole thing, that he knew everything about the upside down.
"lucas charles sinclair? are you serious?" erica asked
"yeah, we're sure" answered juno
"i don't believe you"
"but you believe everything else" asked juno
erica nodded her head.
dustin brushed it off, trying to stop the fans, and erica asked if there was any progress but so far no. and if they weren't able to stop the fans, there was no way out, no way to stop the russians and no chance of seeing steve and robin. which was what worried juno the most.
"there isn't an off switch?" asked juno
"are you sure, you're a nerd" erica asked
"i'm a nerd in the sense of literature" joked juno
"oh so you're those bookworms..." erica said
dustin and erica got into a debacle about erica's nerd status, and how the few minutes about her trying to figure out the math equation, titled her as a nerd, being a math wiz, political junkie and loving my little pony.

once dustin got the fan, they crawled through, juno let the kids go first in case of anything, and he followed close behind. his mind kept racing back to robin and steve, worried about them, worried about what the russians had done to them. and plus, crawling through the vent at his big age was not useful either; being practically smushed together in the vent and trying to find a way out, while avoiding russians was also worrying. juno wasn't sure what was worse, last year's event or this year's event.
they finally found an exit from the vent and where it lead them to a room filled with the green canister and found the cart that drove the russians in that long hallway back and forth. while dustin was rummaging around looking for an extra pair of keys, juno noticed erica walking off, causing him to follow behind.
"erica, where are you going?"
"look, tasers, we can use this on those russians" erica stated, grabbing one and automatically using it.
juno grabbed one saying it wasn't a toy. erica responded she knew that, before grabbing another one and heading out with juno close behind, examining the taser stick. dustin got scared seeing the pair with the weapons before asking juno if he was okay with erica using it.
"i mean...why not?"
"we don't even know where robin and steve are to go saving them, if anything our best bet is to go find help" dustin answered
