After what feels like hours, which in all truthfulness it was, we finally reached the edge of the territory. I can feel the presence of other wolves as they run along through the forest, most likely awaiting our arrival. A small smile slips onto my face but it was gone as quickly as it came.

I stare off aimlessly out of the window as we enter the pack territory, the trees surrounding the road became the most familiar as we approached the pack house, once where I had changed for the first time and others where Mason and I had played growing up. So many feelings had been resurfaced since entering the territory but the most prominent was the pulling in my chest, but the closer we got the stronger it became. It was strong and burned like acid, I furrowed my eyebrows and bit my lip hard enough to draw blood.

Farris suddenly whimpers as the tugging continued to pull achingly, attempting to collapse in on itself. I look up quickly and confusedly at Mason who is looking at me through the visor with a worried expression.

"Do you feel that?" I linked not taking my eyes off of his piercing ones.

"Yes." His voice was strained.

"Our mate is close." Farris said brokenly with a choked whimper. My eyes widened and my mouth fell open in surprise.

"Mate?" I say softly in the hot tense space of the car.

"What?" Michael suddenly asked in surprise, as if he didn't quite hear me right.

"Farris just told me that my mate was close." I say quietly not quite believing it myself. "So did Alexander," Mason stated with his voice sounding much more happy and chipper.

"Really?" Michael's voice was timid and shaky as if he was nervous about something, I knit my eyebrows as Michael began to emit a sweaty scent, while gripping the steering wheel tightly.

"We're in our territory?" Mason asked the burning question. "Is there a new member of the pack?" He seemed almost perturbed by this question. Last time I checked we didn't have any new members and if we did Michael would have confided in us. I start to stress with the thought that our mate could possibly be a rogue.

"Yes." He finally answered, I immediately let out a relieved breath but that was short lived as I was once again furrowing my brows with even more skepticism. Why wouldn't he tell us?

Mason and I are quick to interrogate him with our burning questions. "Who" we asked simultaneously.

"Just some kid, but there is a possibility that it could be a rogue outside the pack." Michael was quick to defend this unexpected newcomer, yet I could tell by his voice that he was nervous.

"Well that's for us to decide now isn't it. I think we should meet this person." Surprisingly it was Mason who was speaking through gritted teeth, his eyes flashing with slight irritation.

"NO.... You'll just confuse him and that's the last thing he needs right now." The scream was a bit unnecessary, but it was off how protective Michael was being over this person.

"What does that mean? What's wrong with them?" I asked in a persistent voice, nervous at the possibility that something was wrong with my mate.

"If what you say is true and he really is your mate... Then you'll see soon enough." He retorts with a sharp tongue.

Who is this guy, and why is Michael being so weird about it?
