Chapter 10

Many months ago

Megumi sighed. Finally home...

She opened the door to her house and saw...someone's underwear. That's odd.

"Tanjiro? I'm home." She walked down the hallway to follow the trail of clothes. She then heard moaning from the bedroom and opened the door to see...her husband in bed with someone else! "WHAT THE HELL?!?"

"M-Megumi!" Tanjiro said. "I-I-I thought you were at work!"

"I got home early! Who is this!?"

"Wait..." The nude woman uttered, "You're married?! WHAT THE FUCK!?! I'm outta here!"

The woman managed to get her bra and underwear on and run out of the house. Megumi slammed the door and locked it. She then faced her husband. "What is the meaning of that?!"

"Well...I...I...I..."

"EXPLAIN," Megumi commanded.

"I found her at the bar I usually go to. She pays attention to me compared to you. All you do is swim all day at that school of yours and you have a teacher's salary! That woman has a job at the Diet Building!"

"I sacrifice time to make ends meet."

"I WANT A DIVORCE!"

"A divorce?" The words echoed throughout Megumi's head...

Present Day

 Megumi startled awake. She remembered her nap when the team took a break from that journey to Westbrook. Bucky walked over and asked, "Anything bad happen?"

"Just..." Megumi whispered. "I just remembered the day Tanjiro asked for a divorce."

"It's alright. We can help you."

Megumi smiled. "Thanks..."

Elsewhere, at Eris's caravan

Kenji sighed as he sharpened his katanas. He then noticed Eris cooking something in the oven. "Hey, Eris. What are you doing?"

"Cooking a meal. Can't bring the end of the world on an empty stomach." Eris answered.

"Dinner!" Ichiko exclaimed.

The oven suddenly dinged and Eris noticed it. "Oh, chicken's done!"

The rest of Vendetta gathered at the table and sat down. Eris and Alexis set the table and food. The group sat down and dug in. Abi grabbed a turkey leg and ripped it with his teeth. Okane scoffed and uttered, "Disgusting."

Ichiko cut a steak and asked, "Hey, Gaki-san, why did you join us?"

"I simply did this because if I gathered the pillars, Eris here will grant me a wish that I will have all the gold in the world."

Jin spat out his drink and asked, "Eris-sama can grant wishes!?!"

"Yes." Eris smiled. "I'm a goddess."

"Ooohhh, could you grant us wishes too?"

"Yes, I can. And I am bound to make those wishes true." Eris then made a cross over her heart and added, "When Goddess gives her word, she's bound for eternity."

"What's the catch?" Kenji asked.

"You have to give a day."

"A day?"

"For the magic to work, I want you to sacrifice a day. Chaos can also be made through sacrifice."

Eris pulled out a knife and the chicken. Alexis hummed and asked, "What day exactly do we need to give?"
