Chapter 9

Five days ago in a house in Okinawa, Japan

Jin typed on his computer, ignoring the fact that he had a cup of soup that was getting too cold by the minute. He sighed at the tiredness that he was doing this instead of getting a job. Man...I hate this...

He then typed the last bit of code and released the code into an unknown source. He sighed and then felt something wrong. What?

Jin suddenly turned around and saw Eris. Her flowing black hair was hypnotizing to the boy and he suddenly blushed at her beauty. Eris smiled and said, "Jin Hakai...I want to recruit you for something special and-"

Eris suddenly saw Jin kneeling on one knee and handing her a freshly cut rose. Its red petals looked beautiful and Eris blushed in reaction. Jin smiled and asked, "What were you gonna say?"

"I want to recruit you for a special mission: To collect the four pillars of Nyx and Time and free my mother to bring the Fall down on humanity." 

"The Fall?"

"The end of the world."

"Hehe...I would do anything for you, ma'am, for your beauty..."

"Very well..." Eris then showed a projection of Prometheus. "This is Prometheus. He is your Persona, the physical manifestation of your inner self. He will help you find the pillars along with your comrades."

"Alright...And...I never got your name."

"Eris, the Greek Goddess of Discord and Chaos."

Present Day

Yaz snored a little and then screamed as she jolted awake. She gasped a little and then saw that the team was in Aoi's house, the living room was totaled following that encounter with Alexis and the creepy goddess.

Bucky walked over to her. "Yaz? Another nightmare?"

"Yeah...Asuka and Ming..."

"Seriously, Yaz. You gotta stop with the nightmares." 

"I can't help it! Asuka's haunting me."

Stone sighed and uttered, "We have to save the world again?"

"Yeah, looks like it," Anna answered.

"I wish it wasn't always up to us," Yaz replied.

"In that way, I wanted to change. I wanted to help and then you guys keep pushing me away." Namaari said. 

"Oh, you wanna know why we keep pushing you away?" Yaz asked. "One, you're evil. Two, you kissed and beat Stone. Three, you almost destroy the world."

"Look, that was the old me."

"Old me," my ass."

"And also, Aika, why are you so clingy to us nowadays? I mean, you were so eager to party with us last night. What's up with that?" Megumi asked. "Is it a phase? Is it something a friend told you to do?"

"I'm dying, okay?!" Aika answered angrily. She suddenly covered her mouth and the team fell silent.

"What? What did you just say?" Anna asked.

"I...I'm dying...I got a strange disease that we don't know what it was around 5 months ago. I thought I could cure it so I spent months creating the cure but when I finally made it...it didn't work. I realized that I had weeks left to live so I tried spending time with you guys before I kick the bucket..."

The silence was deafening to Yaz...her best friend and bisexual crush (aka Settle-For-In-The-Case-Stone-Dies love interest) was dying...Suddenly, there was the sound of smooth jazz, and Erin appeared to be playing his saxophone. The musical notes that played from the saxophone surrounded the team and Yaz realized that he was casting Marin Karin. Anna scoffed and said, "Look at his chesthaaaiiiirrrr...."
