Chapter 3

The next day

Yaz fell asleep in the old room of her old house. She let out a pretty loud snore and then she heard footsteps come from the stairs and then Wanda burst in. Yaz yelped awake and Bucky also yelped. Yaz yawned and asked, "Yeah?"

"Get up, Yaz, it's 9:50." Wanda said. "We gotta head onto the beach."

"Yeah, yeah..." Yaz sighed. Damn...I forgot about our beach thing.

She managed to get out of bed and stretch. Good thing that I brought a swimsuit.

Yaz popped her back and Bucky walked out of the room with Wanda saying, "Get changed, cousin. I'll be in the car."

Wanda left and Yaz managed to get her blue and yellow bikini. She went to the bathroom and changed. She looked in the mirror and said, "Hey, angel. You're lookin' sexy."

She smiled, put her normal clothes over her swimsuit, and got in the car.

At the Beach

The beach was in full effect for the summer. Anna styled her hair into her twin pigtails and rubbed the sunscreen on her arms and stomach. The boys excluding Stone stared at Anna and Yaz giggled. "Can those guys be any weirder when it comes to us?"

"Cut the guys some slack, Yaz." Aika said. "We aren't in the bathhouse like what happened three years ago. Also, it's not every day that you get to see a model walk off the cover of a magazine."

"Yeah. Sadly, there wasn't really a lot of sexy time for me and Stone as of late."

"Why?"

"I don't know. Maybe it's cuz Stone finally found a team and I got a lot of recognition for writing Nach Mera Hero last year."

"Just because you wrote a really good song and Stone has been winning games with his team doesn't mean that nothing bad is happening in your relationship."

Yaz and Aika laughed and Yaz suddenly remembered something from the last story. "Hey, remember that one time in Las Vegas in the last story when we licked whipped cream off each other's p-"

"Yes! Yes! I remember." Aika cringed. "Let's keep that in the past though, okay?"

Yaz sighed. "Okay...What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, I guess..."

The heroes spent a lot of time and Megumi managed to beat Ryu in a race. Anna lied down on her chest and asked, "Ryu? Can you put some sunblock on my back?"

Ryu suddenly blushed and answered, "Um...Sure..."

Yaz smiled and said to Megumi, "Man...Why didn't we bring our swim gear? Maybe next time."

"Yes. Maybe next time."

Yaz then noticed someone familiar and said, "Ikuro."

The man was walking on the beach and then was greeted by a girl. Yaz walked up to the man. "Ikuro."

"Hey, Yaz. Holy crap." Ikuro said. "This is my girlfriend, Haruka."

"Wow. Nice. It's actually really funny to see you again."

Ikuro chuckled. Then, the three heard Anna's scream and saw her standing up while cupping her hands over her breasts.

"That little shit took my top!" Anna shouted. "Give it back!"

It turns out that a boy from high school has stolen her bikini top. Anna tried chasing the boy but she fell behind due to his athleticism. Yaz sighed and said, "Sorry, Ikuro. Misadventure's coming up again."

"It's alright." Ikuro said.

Yaz then ran off to give chase to the boy and his cronies. After a while, the three made their escape and dropped Anna's top. Yaz crouched down and took it. "Hey, Anna. Here's your top."

Around thirty minutes later, Yaz, Bucky, and Stone went to a food stand and Stone said, "Two yakisobas please."

"Sure. Right ahead." The standee said.

Yaz smiled and then looked at the distance. There, she suddenly saw Asuka. It at least happens once or twice a week but this was the second or third time. With that, Asuka was sitting on a beach chair while smiling. Suddenly, a lady walked in front of her and the spirit disappeared. Then she appeared again but a little closer from her original spot. Her chuckling echoed around and Yaz started sweating in the fear. The chuckling became louder and louder and Asuka became closer and closer. Yaz's sweat came quicker and she suddenly collapsed to the ground. Bucky walked up to her and asked, "Yaz?! Are you okay?!?"

"B-B-Bucky....Get my cigarettes...from my bag..." Yaz uttered.

Bucky ran off and Stone crouched down. "Cigarettes? What!?"

"I...I...I've been smoking for the past two years as part of coping...with Asuka..."

"What? Why didn't you tell me?"

"I...I was scared to tell you guys because if I did...You'd stop hanging out with me and you'll break up with me..."

"It's okay, Yaz...We're okay. You're okay. You have real PTSD and anxiety."

"Okay...Hold on..."

Bucky appeared with Yaz's cigarette pack and lighter. Yaz got one of the sticks and lit it up. Stone and Bucky watched in sadness as Yaz smoked and the yakisoba came in. Yaz put out the cigarette and said to Stone, "Okay...Sweetie, I'm gonna get therapy and I'll cut the addiction soon."

"Okay. You'd better."

Yaz chuckled and the two kissed. Stone coughed a little and said, "Your breath smells like smoke."

"Yeah, it does smell like smoke."

"Hey, guys. Let's go get booze for the night!" Aika shouted from afar.

"Coming!"

The three grouped with the others and then Yaz noticed a giant obelisk in the sky. It was certainly glowing red and had other rocks floating all around it. She shook her head and joined the others. I gotta quit smoking...

Meanwhile, in the shade, Eris saw the team and grinned in sadism. "Don't press your luck, mage...My army, Vendetta, will put you out of your misery soon..."
