Present time: (While Zainab was waiting for her Uber)
While waiting for the car she kept thinking about the guy she met on the train. No doubt he was rightly worried about his parents but he should know he is really lucky. Even if they are wrong, they are doing it because they love him, unlike mine who don't give a damn about where I'm. I don't know much about him but he seemed like a good soul. He made me feel comfortable even though we were strangers and it was our first time meeting each other but there was something about him that made me open up to him. I have never had such a conversation with anyone. I know I revealed too much but it doesn't matter. We won't meet again and even if we did I hope he is good at keeping secrets. She got a call from the cab driver and with that, she carried her bags to the car.
One month later:
In Zainab's Life:During this time, Zainab had settled in. Furniture, food, cleaning lady everything was done. She also had bought a small car(she knew how to drive. She even had a license. She got it after she completed her bachelor's degree). Finally, the day came. Tomorrow was her day of joining. She was experiencing mixed emotions. She was both nervous, scared, and excited. She ironed her abaya and hijab. Zainab did everything necessary and was all set to sleep. Let's sleep Zainab. Tomorrow is a big day. Good night.
In Faris's life:
During this month Faris had joined his job and was slowly trying to blend in with society. He had called his parents every day to give them updates about his life and also had slowly started to educate them about Namaz and Quran. Her suggestions worked. My parents were not angry with me at all and once I apologized again that day, they became even more chill. Calling them every day helped too. They were getting more and more interested in my life which was way different from the one we had lived. And I realized they were getting close to each other too. They were not focusing only on their business and friend circles but mom told me, dad had started to take updates from her about her life. The biggest good news was that they had started to pray namaz. Though they are praying only one time which is Asar because it is the shortest one but I'm relieved that at least they are trying to do better. Faris thought to himself.
Tomorrow he was going to meet Shaheer. Yes, he got a job in the same city as his best friend. Surprisingly they were working at the same university too( he was too obsessed with his bestie). Since he had joined as a psychology lecturer he was assigned to a different department and his best friend was a chemistry lecturer in the other one. He was meeting him for the third time since he came here. While he was thinking about his parents, his friend, and Zainab, the girl he met on the train he asked himself 'Will I ever see her again?' He dozed off.
D-Day: (Zainab's first day at her job)
Zainab was nervous at first but as soon as she met the other teachers she felt relieved. They were super sweet. A colleague showed her around and she even took two classes since it was the start of the semester.
She was more interested in the cafeteria. Finally, she was free so she went to eat something at the cafe. After buying a vegetable pizza and a diet coke she settled down. Before she started to eat someone entered the cafeteria and their eyes met. Her heartbeat went crazy. She was confused about whether she was scared, worried, or glad to see him. But one thing she knew for sure was this is not what she wanted.
