After her conversation with Zainab, Aleena texted Shaheer and told him about the whole situation. They both were worried about their friends.
Since that day in the cafeteria, they both had been in contact with each other. It was originally supposed to be for their friends but they both developed feelings for each other. Things had reached the point where Shaheer wished her to meet his mother. They both discussed their problems and knew all they had to know about them. Their ship was sailing but, it would have been even greater if things had been this easy for Zainab and Faris.
Shaheer had never noticed Aleena before that day. Even though they worked in the same department. It was because of Faris and Zainab's situation that drove his attention toward Aleena. She was the first girl who he shared the same brain cells with and he wanted her to be the only one.
For Aleena it was weird. When Shaheer started to give her hints she thought he was being funny but a few days later he told her he was serious about her and wanted things to proceed to the next step. Aleena gave it a thought and she had already started to develop feelings for him so she agreed right away but before that, she wanted to tell him about herself. Her parents were not going to be a problem since she had left their house a long time ago. Things were fine on her side as long as she liked him.
Earlier she was ignorant of any green signals sent by men but this time it was different. He directly asked for her hand and wanted to meet her parents. No one had ever done that before. The biggest difference between others and Shaheer was that he wanted her as his wife and not his girlfriend and she fell for him. Now it was her goal to help the ones who helped them meet. She wanted Zainab and Faris to end up together just like them.
-----------------------
Zainab was exhausted. She was trying to push him away but she was thinking about him more than usual. Her heart was pounding quickly day by day and at this rate, she was going to end up having heart disease more like love disease. She concluded that before she made a decision she had to do something about her family. She took 3 days off and booked a seat. She was attending her brother's event and it was going to be her last time visiting them if things didn't end as she planned.
Faris's mother had noticed the changes in her son's behavior. He looked worried and always seemed to be zoned out. It was not normal for him to act like that. He always paid attention to what his mother was saying but these days it was different. Despite how many times his mother asked he didn't tell her anything but she got the idea. It was about a girl. She seemed quite happy about it. She wanted to know more about this girl so she contacted Shaheer. He refused to interfere but he did relieve her tension by agreeing that indeed it was about his love life. Her mother was more than happy but when Faris finally spoke about it with her she changed. No matter what her son said next she was stuck on the first thing he told her. He had said "Ok Mom. I'm going to tell you about her but please don't ask me anything more than that. She is someone who I met even before we started working together. I'm not sure whether she will agree on getting married right now but one thing I know is that she is the one for me or I won't get married ever." Hearing this her mother had been super curious about this mysterious girl who her son loved so she asked why did he think she was not ready to get married?
"She is divorced. Wounds don't heal quickly and her family has given her a tough time too so I know she is hesitating because of them," he explained. Her mother mentally red-crossed this unseen girl.
"You want to marry a divorcee? That's not happening in ny house! You are my only child and I don't wish to let you marry someone like her. She won your sympathy by telling you all of this my child. Forget about her I will find a girl for you. She will be both pretty and-" he cut her mother off in between which he had never done ever and said "Woah Woah. Just wow. Never expected this from you Mom. First thing this is my life and I have full right to choose who I wish to marry. I'm going to move out permanently from YOUR house you don't have to worry about that. Second, we met while traveling when I first left home. She was the one to who I told everything even before I shared it with Shaheer. She had this warmth and understanding eyes which you and dad don't. Do you know what she said when I told her why I left? She told me to be thankful that I had parents like you who cared about me but seems like she was wrong." he was disappointed. "and yeah your views just made me realize that the real reason behind her being hesitant is not only the reason I mentioned but it is mainly because of people like you." he ended the call.
