"You said the right thing, Rehana. That girl is trying to trap him and he is too innocent to understand that. Don't worry I'll talk to him. He is our only son. He will do as we wish for him. He will realize soon where he is going wrong." Faris' father said.
"but he has never talked to me like that. This girl changed him so negatively. She tried to win him over by talking sweetly about us but she thinks she is more clever than us. I'm never going to let him marry a divorced woman." Rehana (Faris' mother) cried.
"Don't worry. We will talk to him after we attend this wedding tomorrow. He will get it once I scold him a few times." he replied. "Did you notice how Faris tried to fool us? He made us turn to the path of Islam. Indeed I'm thankful but he did it because he knew we were not going to be convinced so he found this way. Slowly he wanted us to become too indulged in our religion that we accept everything he says but nope it's not going to work. Not this time not in the future either." he said while sipping tea from his cup. He was not too bothered, unlike his wife who had cried rivers of tears since last night.
------------------------------
The next day at Faris' house:"She just took 3 days off. No one in the office knows where she went. I think maybe Aleena knows. I'll ask her and let you know if there are any updates." Shaheer replied.
"Thank you, bro. Please be quick. I don't know whether I should text her or not because I'm giving her space to think about us. I have not seen her since that last time. Even though what you told me about Aleena and Zainab's conversation I'm too scared. What if she rejects me? I want her to give me an answer as quickly as possible but if the answer is no then I can wait for years. Suddenly disappearing without anyone knowing is not a good sign. I hope Aleena knows then will I take a breath of peace." Faris was anxious.
Please come back. I will make you happy. I will be there for you whenever you need me. Ya Allah please make her return safely and with a big smile and an answer in my favor. Let it be yes Ameeeeennn. Faris prayed.
-------------------------------------------
"She went back," Aleena replied casually.
"What do you mean!!????" Shaheer asked confused. He was standing on the balcony.
"Oho. Don't panic she is attending her brother's wedding."
He sighed in relief.
"But there is a tough part. She will decide what she has to do next after attending that event so tell your friend to start praying the Tahajjud prayer. She is coming on Saturday. A day has already passed and today she will be busy with the event and tomorrow she will be back but they will meet on Monday so tell Faris to be patient."
(Tahajjud, also known as the "night prayer", is a voluntary prayer performed by followers of Islam. It is not one of the five obligatory prayers required of all Muslims, although the Islamic prophet, Muhammad was recorded as performing the tahajjud prayer regularly himself and encouraging his companions too.)
"Okay. Thanks, I'll surely forward your message to him. And yeah I'm sorry I know we were supposed to meet my mother today but you see Faris needed me and I had to be there for him."
"No worries. I knew he will be going to need you that's why I was going to cancel the plan. I called you multiple times but you didn't pick up my call so I assumed you might be busy."
"Thank you for understanding. This just made me realize that I chose the right girl. I never noticed you before not because I didn't like you it's just we didn't have any interaction. The day we did I fell for you and for all the right reasons. Let's meet my mother on the weekend she is super excited to meet you"
"Now I'm shy. This is so weird. I'm hanging up. And yeah let's pray for Faris and Zainab hope things work out well for them. Ameen Ya Rab."
"Ameen. Ok byes." Shaheer ended the call with a smile. I'm lucky. Did I ever deserve a sweet girl like her? ShukarAlhamdulillah. and without wasting any second he went to Faris' room and narrated all the important things he should know from his conversation with Aleena.
--------------------------
After Shaheer left. Faris performed Isha prayer and was all set to sleep. He added alarm of Tahajjud. He was going to pray night prayer from now on. Not only for Zainab but for his parents too. After hearing his mother's view he was disappointed and disturbed. He knew what his father's reaction must have been so he didn't contact them today.
He kept shifting in his bed because he was not well. How could he be when Zainab was going to come back with the answer tomorrow? If the answer has something to do with her family and this event then surely she must have decided her answer by now. Should I call her? Or maybe text her? What am I going to text her? Maybe some sad poetry so that she rejects me directly. Or maybe just a safe return note? Yes, that's better. She should know I'm still waiting.
After typing for so long and erasing texts again and again he finally texted her:
She saw the message but there was no reply. He kept looking at his phone screen waiting for her text but she didn't send any. He fell asleep just like that. If this is how he was reacting over a text how will he wait for Monday? How will he wait for her if she rejects him tomorrow?
