Time Is Limited (Zooey Kern x M!Reader)

It has been a couple of months since that day in the park when Zooey ambushed Y/N. She still didn't give him the real reason as to why she did what she did. She couldn't deny that she wanted to see him again because she did. Since she has seen him that first night, it brought back all of her feelings for.

Y/N and Zooey were currently on a late night walk arond the local park. We have only been dating for a few weeks and they have been the best few weeks of my life. We both walked under the moonlight. That was when he stopped walking.

"Since I met you, my life has been happier. I actually want to get out of bed in the morning because I get to speak or see you." He told her as she smiled softly at him. "You make my life worth living and I don't ever want that to end. So will you be my girlfriend?" He asked her shyly. She thought how cute he looked in this moment before she caught his lips in her own in a soft kiss.

"I would love to be yours Y/N." She whispered before he kissed her again. He felt like nothing could crush his world right now. He felt invincible.

Y/N had been tackling somethings over the past few years that he had been doing alone. Even before his parents accident. But he never thought that anyone needed to know. So he kept quiet. He has his regular tests and screenings.

Zooey was shocked when she saw Y/N come into the Doctors office. He went to see his doctor who has dealt with his situation since he found it.

The doctor looked at the results from the previous scans as Y/N sat patiently waiting for him to speak.

"It hasn't grown or any abnormal cells have been found so it remains benign." He told Y/N as he nodded

"Is there anyway to remove it?" He asked the doctor.

"No. With its location, it is inoperable. If we tried it would leave you paralysed or possibly dead on the table." He told him as Y/N just nodded.  "But that is why we like to do regular tests. Just to make sure that everything is A-Ok." He told Y/N. He just thanked the doctor and left the room. Zooey watched as he walked away and out of the building.

Y/N decided to just stay at home, laying on the sofa and watching tv with a beer in his hand. Zooey also decided that after her shift she would get his favourite food on her way and see if Y/N wanted to have dinner with her.

Once she worked up the courage to knock on the door, Y/N was shocked to see her standing there.

"I thought that you might be hungry and brought us dinner." She gave him a hopeful smile. He just nodded and let her in. She looked around and noticed that much hadn't changed, besides the sofa. Of course he got a new one, he didn't want to have one associated with that awful day. Y/N went to get forks and a couple of beers as Zooey set the food out.

"So why are you really here?" He asked her as he finished his food. As much as he felt the pain he felt the moment he walked in on her and him, he also felt comfort in her presence.

"Because I want to make things right between us. I live here now and I don't want us to be awkward whenever we pass one another." She told him with a nervous smile. "I want to at least try to be friends with you." She told him as he sat back.

"Before that can happen, I need to get some things off of my chest." He told her as he sat forward. Unable to sit still. "You really broke my heart when you did what you did. I was ready to have a family with you. You were the only person I ever saw that with." He continued after taking a breath. "I need to be able to trust you. Trust is the most important thing to me in a friendship. In any form of a relationship really. And if you can prove to me that I can trust you and you are really sorry. I can really then consider us being friends." He finished as she nodded. This was better than she expected. She was willing to show him that she wants nothing more than for him to trust her again and she knows that this time around she isn't going to screw it up. She won't. She is determined to have him back in her life, even if it is just as a friend.
