So, to top off modeling assignments, Lee had to learn her lines for the play and go to rehearsal every weekday evening. She had no time for a social life. She only saw Julius at school in the hallways. It was hard dating the hottest guy but barely getting to see him.
She snuck in time to see him whenever she could.
"Hey boo," she smiled at him as she sat at his lunch table. He was sitting all by himself at a big table, head in his phone. She was so glad other girls were not trying to get his attention.
He looked up and smiled at her. "What are you doing at lunch this period?"
She gave him a sly grin. "I skipped class."
"Lee!"
"What? I wanted to spend some time with you." She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him, laying her head on his shoulder. "You should be happy."
"I am." He leaned over and kissed her. She hoped everyone saw him kiss her. She felt so lucky to be with him.
"What are you eating?"
"Pizza."
"Oh," she said, picking off some of the cheese from his pizza and eating it. "Mmmm."
He chuckled at her. "Hungry?"
"No, I ate already. Hey, guess what? I have free time Saturday in between shoots. From like noon to four p.m. Want to do something?"
"I'm so glad you could schedule me in."
"I wish it was more, I do Julius." She kissed his cheek. "Let's hang out and do nothing. It's just been work, work, work, then rehearsal, rehearsal, rehearsal. Oh, and study! I need the rest."
"Sure. Maybe I can pamper you," he said with a grin. "I'd like that, would you?"
"Go for it."
She could not wait for Saturday to arrive. Her mother dropped her off at Julius' place and she had a nice surprise waiting for her. Julius took her hand and led her toward the back of his house. When she stepped outside with him, there was a barbecue grill going with food, and his phone was Bluetooth to speakers playing her favorite at the moment.
There was a picnic set up in the middle of the yard with a blanket, a basket, flowers all around, and candles going. This boy was beyond amazing for his age. And only sixteen!
"Julius!" Lee was excited over the layout.
"My father taught me how to be romantic when I had a girl I really cared about. I'm glad that's you, Lee."
"Oh!" she grabbed him in a hug, almost about to cry. He was too good for her, deep down she felt like she did not deserve a guy like this.
"I bet you're hungry. I have veggie burgers, veggie kabobs, grilled corn...oh, and cheese and crackers to start."
"I'm starving! We can eat now." Lee walked to the blanket and sat down.
Julius went into the basket and pulled out a charcuterie board all wrapped up. Several kinds of sliced cheeses, a wedge of cheese, crackers, grapes, and strawberries. If she ate nothing but that she would be good, but she would not overeat before the food was done.
"Sit there and relax, let me go check on the grill. Let me know if you need anything. Something to drink? check the basket." Julis leaned down to kiss her cheek then walked back over to the grill.
A man that could cook. She should marry him.
She laughed at herself. She was only fifteen, why was she thinking about marriage? She did want to get married one day. She wanted a perfect guy, to have a perfect life, and to have perfect children. First, her career. She really had to focus on that.
