That's Our Dad

Chapter 21

The whole city was in chaos. The polices were driven crazy by the citizen phone calls.  Reporters from many news agencies along with some policemen were gathered at a particular cinema entrance.

It all started with a phone call.

“Hello. What is your emergency?” the receiver officer answer but shook his head in annoyance after listening to the caller.

“This is not a line for a childish prank or... Chi--Chimon...” hearing the name,  everyone in the room stared at him with interest. The reporter also looked at him alert.

“Don’t joke around kid. If you are that free then...”

Chimon was one of the biggest tv stars of his time as he was a great lawyer. But during the crises of Pluem and his wife's death, he disappeared mysteriously without any tracks until today. So of course everyone was still curious about his sudden disappearance.

“ Are you not joking?” with this he looked at his colleagues, “Okay I'll retire from my job today itself if you are true. And if what you say is not true then I will put you in jail...” he exclaimed angrily and put down the phone strongly.

“Let go to Mr Jack’s house...” he said as he angrily walked away.

“Reporters, please we still don't know if the news is valid or not so I requested you not to alert the public yet.” the officer requested but who are they to hear the order?

Before the police could reach the area every news agency started to broadcast the news.

As soon as they opened the door, New and Off were frozen on the spot. Behind the door were two chained men and a woman very pale and looking very tired, leaning on the nearby wall. Looking around the room was not that big with two beds and with thin blankets. A table was placed in the middle along with three chairs, three plates were there on the table which looked rather dirty as if they didn't wash for years.

Off without looking away took out his phone and called the police.

“If you are not going to trust us then why are you sitting there?” off exclaimed into his phone after some time, “What if it's true? .... Fine for me” and cut the call.

Then he turned to the frozen New and hugged the younger's shoulder as he lead their way to the three elders.

Without stopping his walk, New looked into Off's eyes, “P’Off, my parents. They are my parent. I finally got my parent.”

“Go... Kao...” Off whispered and in no time New was being hugged by his father and Chimon.

Off looked at them confused as to why Chimon hugged New instead of Janhae.

At that time the police along with an ambulance rushed towars the house and stood there with their mouth wide open to see the three chained people. The paramedics quickly brought them to the hospital, New refused to let go of his father and Off also refused to let of New so they all drove to the hospital. Along the way, the police in charge get some information from Off so they are now here on a particular cenima.

Without any worries, the people in the cinema were laughing, and crying while watching the movie. Among them were Krist, Win and their parent.

They exit the room laughing happily when a police officer blocks their way.

“Mr Jack, Mrs Jin you are under arrest.”

The laugh dies down quickly, “What? Why?”

“We will talk in the office. Prem, handcuff the kids too.” then the police officer handcuff them and walked away.

In the hospital, Off's grandpa along with Push and Easter came and consoled Kao. The next day after the police officer took the victim's statement and released the other two boys from the lockup.

After hearing the news, Win and Krist also rushed to the hospital to meet their parents after the police confirmed their DNA. But when they saw New taking care of their parents, they got jealous and started their act.

“New! How could you? How could you do this to us?” Win started shouting, starting Plum, Chimon and Janhae, “They are our parents, not yours only. You lied to the police and send us to the lock-up... New, we are your brother. How can you do that?” he started crying so Krist gently hugs him.

Krist also glared at New with his watery eyes, “You stole our money yesterday and go out with your lover so that we can hang out with our friends. Why are you so selfish New?”

Hearing that New along with the three elders was stunned. Stuttering New tried to defend himself, “What are you talking about? I didn't...”

“Krist, now our parents are here. We don't need to worry anymore. He wouldn't able to bully us. we can sleep without any fear at night.” Win said still crying.

“New! Is it true? You are such a... Go for now. Out of my sight!” Plum said waving his hand, indicating to go.

New looked at his father with shock, tears also falling, “But Dada...” he tried to touch his father's hand but his father shouted at him.

“I said go! Get out of my sight!”

New was startled and quickly run away while sobbing heavily. It broke Plum's heart hearing his son sobbing but they needed to learn to.

Off and his grandpa were not in the hospital so no one would stop the crying man.

“Tell me how he treated you guys...”

Win and Krist started telling their father about their childhood which New bully them, making them do the dishes every day, do the laundry, clean the house, everything New made them do.

As soon as New entered the room, he jumped on the bed and cried to sleep,

“Why? Why did they have to do this? I want to hug my Dada and Mana.” then he stopped crying as a smile bloomed on his face, “Maybe Win and Krist tell them about the prank and I can get to hug my parents tomorrow.” with that he closed his eyes.

The next day New came to the hospital early in the morning happily. He also brought a lot of breakfast for his parents. He kept smiling looking at the breakfast, mentally hearing the praised voice of his parents for being able to make such good food.

But his smile died down when a security guard stop him,

“Hey kid, you are not allowed to go inside.”

“Why?” New asked confused.

“Sir Plum don't want a bully as a son. Now go ...” with that the security pushed New away.

“Just give them this. I made breakfast for them.” New begged the guard.

The guard scoffed while taking the package, “Okay.”

New smiled, “Thank you.” finally the guard pushed him away.

He run to Off’s house as soon as he can but only to find out the elder was already gone. But his grandfather glared at him and closed the door in his face.
