Claire decides to butt in and say, "You know why people like you two knock everything."
Bender leans towards me and whispers, "Oh, this should be stunning."
I nod in agreement and say, "Let's see if she gets it right.
Claire ignores us and says, "It's 'cause you're afraid."
"Oh, God! You richies are so smart, that's exactly why I'm not heavy in activities!" Bender and I said at the same time.
"You're a big coward!" Claire said while ignoring us.
I guess Brian felt a little left out because he said, "I'm in the math club..."
Claire ignores Brian and continues saying, "See you're afraid that they won't take you. You don't belong so you just have to dump all over it."
"Speak for yourself Princess, I am in the Math, Science, Choir and I'm on the cheer team. I may be a delinquent but I know where to stop. I technically may be a part of the Prep group but I am nothing like you snooty preppy girls. I grew up in an all male household. I didn't have my mom growing up. Try living my life for a day and see how you fare." I snap.
I get a look of sympathy from Allison and Brian while Bender continues by saying, "Well...it wouldn't have anything to do with you activities, people being assholes...now would it."
"Well you wouldn't know...You two don't even know any of us." Claire says smugly.
"Oh that's where you're wrong Claire. I know all there is to know about anyone in school. I am in the same clique as most of you anyway. I may know more about all of you than Vernon who reads our records without our permission." I say threateningly.
Bender turns the attention back to him by saying, "Well, I don't know any lepers either, but I'm not gonna run out and join one of their fucking clubs."
Andrew scowled and said, "Hey let's watch the mouth, huh?"
Brian felt the need to contribute again by saying, " I'm in the Physics Club too..."
Bender looked at Claire and said, "S'cuse me a sec...", before turning to Brian and saying, "What are you babbling about?"
"Well, what I said was... I'm in the Math Club, the Latin Club, and the Physics Club... Physics Club." Brian said, stumbling over his words.
Bender nods at Brian and turns to Claire before saying, "Hey...Cherry...do you belong to the Physics Club?"
"That's an Academic Club..." Claire said.
I scoff and say, "So?"
"So...academic clubs aren't the same as other kinds of clubs." She explains to me like I'm an idiot.
Bender saw the anger in my face and intervened by saying, "Oh, but to dorks like him..." He points to Brian before saying, "...they are."
I turn to Brian and ask, "What do you guys do in your club?"
"In Physics, um, ah, we talk about Physics...about properties of Physics."
"So it's sorta social...demented and sad, but social. Right?" Bender said.
