EARLY MORNINGS

I was barely a child before I learned to wake before dawn

Before the rooster sang

Sure I felt sleepy

I might have dozed off a few times too

But there we were as a family

Where one was there was another or each other

Did you know that in those morning hours bugs buzz all around and mosquitoes are the hungriest

What was the cold then

Just a shirt and long sleeve felt like enough

Don't forget the jeans

Sweater's, cover's, and all in-between got left abandon

The body overheated when your in motion

When the sunrise appeared it was time for lunch

Breakfast was eaten before dawn even showed up
