Going shopping always puts me in a positive state of mind since it is my only way out of that prison, well it was at first before the new security came. Now every aisle I turn down they're waiting for me and the kids, I know their here to protect me but I could just ram the basket into them for being in the way. I don't even think I could gather enough energy to even run toward them because of the altercation I had earlier with Nash. He doesn't want me to leave the house while he's arranging a new one for us to move into and the kids are excited to go somewhere new.

With Asteria in the basket and Hector and Evander playing with the guards I finally reach the main thing I came to the store for Halloween costumes. It was the day before Halloween and the boys had been talking about what superhero they wanted to be. I held up some costumes for the boys to pick out but I can't help to see Milo whispering to one of the guards "Okay boys which superhero it's going to be?"

Hector is the first to pick up a Thor costume off the rack while Evander takes the Spider-Man costume I was holding up. The boys ran off to show off their costumes to the guards as they bragged about what their superhero can do. Asteria already knows what she wants before I could even ask her ."I want the Fairy" I bend down to get the green tinker bell outfit for Asteria and I know Milo is watching me but he hasn't spoken to me since he told me about Ivano. I throw the costume in the basket along with some candy and head to the register hoping I spend enough time in the store so Nash could calm down by now.

.......

I'm quiet during the ride home while the kids talk amongst themselves about everything under the sun in the back seat and I open the candy I got from the store and reach to the back to pass it out to the kids. I tried to give Milo a piece when we stopped at a red light but he was staring at the bruise on my cheek Nash left earlier "I wanted to get the kids some costumes for tomorrow but he didn't care for the idea too much. I'm sorry"

Why am I apologizing to him? I look like an idiot and he grips the steering wheel at my words making me sit closer to the door watching the rest of the cars follow us in the side mirror. I know he won't hurt me but I'm use to men having their way with me and I don't want to take any chances.

We pulled up to the house with the rest of the crew behind us. I waited for someone to open my door but the guards opened the backseat doors instead of mine as they let kids out of their car seats. I went to grab for the door and Milo touches my leg "Layanna"

My name is something I despise hearing. It reminds me too much about that night I can't go back there,  I can't relive that massacre. It's so much they don't know about what really happened at that hospital and what I had to do to escape. Milo sees I'm deep in my thoughts but he doesn't say anything instead he rubs my covered leg giving me the comfort I need but I can't show weakness.
