Everything I know is Nash, I completely changed my life for him just because he said he loved me, and this whole time he was lying to me. It was easier to know he was cheating on me than to know he was working with the people that killed my sister. I can't help but to think that I am not doing everything in my power to protect these kids, she was a better mother than me I don't know what I am doing. They were always within reach for Ivano, he could have shown up anytime and I was dumb enough to stay thinking it was for them. Now I see it was never for them it was all for me, I needed to stay with Nash because he gave me a small fraction of love. Even though it wasn't a version of a perfect love he still never left me, unlike my parents.
After driving for what seems like days, we finally make it to the safe house, it's smaller than the prison we just broke out of. It's tucked in surrounded by nature and I'm dying to get out of this truck as I undo my seatbelt. "Mia is inside waiting for us"
One of his men opened my door helping me out of the truck, a simple smile is all I can give the kind man. I've been biting my tongue for hours and any words I let go of may not come out as friendly. I get the twins out of the car as Milo grabs Asteria, they were all fast asleep as we walked into the house. "I could've grabbed one of the twins for you Laya" I just follow his lead not responding to his words, I'm behind him as he walks into the common area.
The most stunning woman I've ever seen turns around "It took y'all long enough, I was starting to worry about you guys" She had on a black lace crop top with a dark red tailored suit "Do you guys want a drink?" She walks over to the alcohol and starts putting ice in glasses before sitting them down on the bar waiting for our response. I'm stunned at how good Mia looks. She is literally picture-perfect. She has blonde hair that was cut into a bob showing off her lovely bone structure and her eyes are dark blue which I could stare into all day. Mia had to be 5'7 without heels as she stood there with so much confidence.
Milo breaks my focus away from her "Do you know what time it is?" He was disappointed in her, but she didn't care as she poured herself a drink.
I smiled at Mia approving her actions I just know we are going to be good friends "Don't just stand there get the kids from them and put them in one of the beds upstairs" The twins are taken out of my hands, and I walk to Mia as she makes me a drink "Light or dark liquor?"
I touch the darker bottle and Mia laughs at Milo's puzzled face as she pours my drink and hands it to me slowly creasing my hand in the process. This makes Milo clear his throat as Mia and I hold eye contact, she sips her drink and winks at me before walking off.
Mia sits down in the chair by the fireplace "Fuck Milo. You didn't tell me she was this gorgeous I mean look at her" I go and sit in the chair across from hers as Milo stands in the same spot looking even more confused than ever.
