To say they had gotten closer over the past two days, would have been a lie. They had barely spoken to each other, and Halfie wasn't sure what he had done, but whatever it was had made Bakugo angry.
Bakugou had gone out hunting three times since they had been in this cave, and yet he never allowed Halfie to eat. ( read 'never specifically said -here eat this-')
So Halfie was going on three days without food. His leg hurt like a bitch, and every time he tried to get up, Bakugou would threaten to murderer him if he tried to move.
On the third day, he just couldn't take it anymore, so he asked.
"What have I done to anger you?" There was a pleading note in his voice, but barely visible.
At this moment, Bakugo was sitting across the cave, near the entrance using the sunlight to sharpen his knife. He paused for a moment and glared up at Halfie.
"What are you talking about shit head? I'm not particularly mad right now."
Halfie was still laying on the makeshift cot over in the corner, trying his best to sit up, for fear of losing his fingers.
"You're obviously angry, or else-NEVER MIND!"Halfie caught himself. He had almost mentioned the food. Unless he wanted to be tortured to death he had better keep his fucking mouth shut. He knew better than this, what was going on?
He turned onto his side trying to ignore the hunger pangs in his stomach, but it was getting harder and harder by the second. He whimpered, and suddenly realized that his fairytale dream of Bakugou being any better than Master was just that.
A fairytale. He was stuck, and there was no way out.
It was later that night when Bakugou went over to Halfie's cot, and demanded he roll over. Halfie who was barely awake just growled, and stayed right where he was.
Two seconds later, he was drenched from a bucket of creek water.
"I said to roll over Shitty Hair." This time Halfie obeyed without a second thought. It was almost as if he couldn't control it.
"I have to change your bandages unless you want it to get infected, so quit looking at me like I killed your fucking grandma! Dumbass."
Halfie just grunted, trying not to answer unless he was directly asked a question.
"Oh for fucks sake! If I'm going to be waiting on you hand and foot while your injured like a baby, the least you could do would be some damn small talk! What the fuck is wrong with you?! It's like taking care of a rock!"
"Nothing that I know of Master."
Bakugou recoiled as if Halfie had spit in his face."What the actual FUCK did you just call me?!" He sounded like he was on the verge of murder.
"M-Master" Halfie responded hesitantly, not sure what he had done, but Bakugou looked like he was beyond pissed.
"Why the Fuck would you call me that." His voice was now eerily quiet. A trait he had picked up from his mom.
Halfie blanched. He didn't understand. He didn't understand at all. Master was a good name. Everyone he had ever met loved being called master. Well... to be fair that hadn't been very many people, but still.....
"I only called you that because you are my master." And as soon as the words had left his mouth he knew that he had made a mistake.
Bakugou exploded.
Literally.
His palms began to pop, and Halfie could smell the sent of smoke before he could see it. Bakugou turned to the opposite wall, and placed his smoking hands on the cool stone, in order to keep from murdering the fucking lizard.
"If I ever hear that fucking word again, there will be hell to pay. I am NOT your master. Got it Halfie?" He flinched. Somehow hearing that name coming out of Bakugou's mouth hurt much more than it ever had with Master.
"I'm gonna go get some food , and when I come back, we are going to pretend like this shit show never happened. Kay?" Halfie nodded vigorously.
"Yes....sir?"
"Oh for fucks sake! Just call me Bakugou!"
And then he was out the door.
