Bakugou had been cooking the deer he had brought back, and Halfie's stomach was protesting loudly at his lack of food.
Bakugou broke the silence, and said
"There are two things that I need you to answer for me. Truthfully. Try anything funny, and I'll personally set you on fire. Once you've answered, I'll let you steep in the silence you love so dearly. But until they are answered, I'm not going anywhere." The threat in his voice was obvious.
He was demanding that Halfie answer.Halfie nodded his head, a little afraid to speak, because it seemed that whenever he opened his mouth and spoke Bakugou got angry.
"Why did you think I was your master?"
Halfie froze up, he wasn't expecting that. What should he say?!
He decided that answering honestly would be the best course of action, and responded
"Because I lost the duel, And you took me away from Master."Bakugo just glared at him, urging him to continue.
"When a dragon loses a duel, especially to a human, the winner becomes their master. When I fought you in the Colosseum, that was the first fight I ever lost.""If that's the case, then why don't the dumbass dragons just kill their masters? I feel like that's fucking common sense if they wanna be free!"
"Because no matter how much I want to kill you, I can't disobey you. And the thought of even seeing you hurt makes me wanna vomit."
At this, Bakugou's face lit up with an evil grin. "So you can never betray me, huh?"
Halfie nodded his head, not sure whether his smile was a good thing or not.
Still grinning, he said,
"Second question. Why haven't you been eating? We've been here for like three days, and you haven't touched anything."At this point, it was all Halfie could do to keep from going into a full on freak out. He thought Bakugou knew.
"Because" he took a breath to try and calm himself down. "because I'm not allowed to"
Instantly all traces of his smile were gone. "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!"
"ItMeansYouNeverToldMeICouldEat,AndMasterTaughtMeBetterThanToComplain!!" Halfie rushed through his words, as if he could say them fast enough Bakugo wouldn't hear, and the punishment wouldn't be to bad.
Bakugou's face went from angry, to confused, to realization..... and then back to anger. "There was so much fucking trauma in that one sentence alone!"
"I want you to realize something right now you shitty dumbass half breed fucking lizard, I am nothing like this master guy you keep talking about! And if you compare me to that fuck wad one more time, I'll rip your arms off and shove them down your fucking throat."
Halfie just nodded, unsure of what to say or do now.
"And don't you dare try to skip another damn meal! Get over here and eat right fucking now!"
Halfie nodded again, and slid off the cot, and nearer to the fire. When he got close enough Bakugou threw him the leg of the deer.
"You never have to get permission to eat. Never again. Got that Shitty Hair?"
Maybe Halfie was wrong.
Maybe staying with Bakugou wouldn't be like staying with Master.
Bakugou seemed to care if Halfie died, unlike master, who only wanted him for his fighting skills. He didn't even have him chained up right now.Maybe Bakugo was better than Master?
But if halfie got to choose right now, he would most definitely choose Bakugou over master, because Bakugou was healing his leg. An action that Master had never even considered. That much was obvious because of the scars littering the red-heads body from head to toe.
Even if Bakugou wasn't trying to heal him, Bakugou wasn't making him fight. And that in and of it's self was enough to make Halfie never want to go back. Back to the constant fighting, and death. Back to little to no food, and none of he pissed of Master. Back to constantly being chained up. Back to any of that. Back to Master.
He was finally free, and Halfie was going to make it count.
