"Ella, stop that!"
Jeremy yelled at Ella for the fifth time in the past 15 minutes. That little doll was really testing his patience. Especially when he was trying to do something important. In the past few days, he's desperately tried to get her to listen but to no avail.
It was slowly driving him insane. Kinda.
The reason he yelled at her this time was because she managed to get a knife and was running...teleporting around? He could never tell. One moment she's in front of him, and then behind him the next second. Sometimes there was multiple of her because of her weird powers. He's learned to not question them.
Eventually he caught her, yanked the knife out of her hands and put it away before returning to getting ready. Today was the second day of his new job. Two days ago he was hired to be the janitor for Freddy's Pizzeria. And yesterday was his first day.
Putting on his shoes, he grabbed his keys and phone and put them in his pocket. He left as soon as he could to get away from Ella's destructive antics. Once in his car, he let out a sigh of relief and went to work.
Freddy's wasn't a horrible place. The outside was welcoming. Bright colors, windows showing what was going on inside, and posters of the characters on said windows. But going inside, he still wasn't used to the smell. Immediately being blasted with the smell of pizza mixed with overly sweet things wasn't the best thing. But it wasn't the worst.
The noises were more bearable, at least to Jeremy. Going across the tiled floor, he listened to the sound of children and teens laughing at games and dumb jokes. The beeping from arcade machines, music from hidden speakers, and the occasional annoyed employee.
Freddy's was a place that was famous for a few things. Jeremy was skeptical about the rumors surrounding the place. Murders in the past seemed a bit extreme, so he brushed it off without a second thought.
While walking by, he glanced to the characters walking around. Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie. He never understood why they were so huge. 7 feet tall with curves above average for a human. Of course he stared for a few seconds, questioning what the companies thought process was. But he just shrugged it off like always. As long as he was getting paid a decent amount, he didn't care what they looked like.
While in the supply closet making sure he had everything he needed for the day, someone knocked on the open door. Turning around, he was greeted with the face of his work friend Reggie. Jeremy only met Reggie yesterday, but they became friends pretty quick. Reggie's sense of humor is probably what made the friendship work. He was very immature at times, which was something Jeremy wished he was at times.
"So, think anything interesting will happen today?" Reggie asked with a dumb little smile on his face.
Jeremy had to think for a moment. He didn't know the events that can happen here, so any guess was probably better then what he thought. "At best maybe a kid slips on some spilled soda."
Both boys laughed a bit at that. Because it was a funny thought, and it was likely that would happen. Reggie was about to say something else when another worker called for him. So saying his temporary goodbye, Reggie said his goodbye and left the little supply closet.
Jeremy finished up in there as well and closed the door. Until anything happened, he got to look around at the whole scene of the building. Surprisingly all the bright colors didn't give him a headache. Neither did all the noise. He just let out a little sigh and leaned against the wall, waiting.
The more he stared at the happy environment, the less he believed in the stupid rumors. Would take a psycho to make those rumors and spread them. With the slight shake of his head, he looked up to feel something staring at him. An uncomfortable feeling quickly grew.
While trying to stay calm, he glanced around the room. But he couldn't find it and the feeling went away. He wasn't very calm from then on, constantly glancing around.
He eventually did have to clean up something. A soda spill, of course! Going back to the supply closet, he saw a kid standing in front of the door. Black and grey clothing with black hair. He was about to say something when a girl around his age pulled the boy away, allowing Jeremy to open the closet.
"Sorry about that." The girl said calmly, and in a voice that was quite nice to hear.
All Jeremy did was just nod, hoping she would take the hint that he was on the job right now. Luckily she did leave. Jeremy let out a little sigh of relief. He didn't want to strike up a conversation with another girl just in case Kasey was around. He knew this was a place Kasey could hang around because of all the little things she could take.
Hours of cleaning went by. His shift ended by 7:30 in the afternoon. Kept him busy all day, so that's a good way to pass the time. Putting everything away, he found the less active pizzeria a little eerie. Less sound. The place was starting to die down, and he wanted to leave fast.
Minutes later, he walked out into the colder afternoon air. The sky was getting darker as nighttime approached. A time he liked because it was calm.
"Hey, I remember you!"
Not so calm anymore.
He looked over at the source of the voice. That same girl from before. But now he actually looked at her features. First her face, which didn't look bad. He thought she was slightly above average with those bright blue eyes and nearly kept, shoulder length blonde hair. Her outfit consisted of a plaid button up for some reason, and a blue jeans along with some sneakers.
"Just walking by and came across you again." She explained with a little smile. Though something about it seemed a bit forced to Jeremy.
"Figured that much." He said in a calm way, just shrugging his shoulders.
"Kinda feel sorry that you're the janitor at Freddy's. That place is always messy.
A bit of silence before Jeremy finally spoke. "Yeah, that's usually how public places involving kids are like. Messy."
"Yeah. And what's your name? Mines Kelsey. Might as well get introductions out of the way." She spoke while walking with him now.
"Jeremy."
And that sparked a little bit of conversation between the two. Just learning about each others interests, which wasn't anything special. Kelsey just seemed to have a huge interest in Freddy's, which led to her spending 5 minutes trying to convince Jeremy to follow her into the woods. Apparently she had found an old Fazbear pizzeria that's been abandoned.
