Episode 1: Grave new world

The next step has been through a lot, A-troupe was torn apart, we almost lost our chance to compete at regionals. If we wanna win this year, we need to stay united. Right now dancing together just feels amazing.

After miss Kate found out that Michelle and Emily let Richelle dance on an injury, they both got fired. Miss Kate hired a new studio head and we have no idea what to expect.

We put this dance together to impress the new studio head, we heard she's tough but she gets results.
Now that we are competing we have to be at the top of our game.
I feel really good about A-troupe and our chances of winning, everything between Ozzy and I is great and going to regionals together will just be incredible.
After the qualifiers video, Josh, Lola and Zara left which means we are short on dancers.
I miss Michelle and Emily but I'm also excited to meet the new studio head.

So you all know who I am and since I've been brought on to fix this team, I've been finding out who you are.
We've heard miss Angela's won regionals eight times. She's known as being a "fixer"
I've been observing your weaknesses, I think I've got a handle on that so I brought on a few dancers to help round out the team.
We usually hold auditions to find the best dancers but I guess miss Angela has a different way of doing things.
You'll recognise summer, she has multiple awards. This is Finn and Kenzie, they're great for pop and sizzle. You'll know what I mean soon enough and this is Lily. She brings star quality.
Ok dancers line up. Lily says
What is she doing? We already have a dance captain on our team.
So we all get into a line anyway.
You can't wear those glasses. Miss Angela says to Ozzy. Excuse me? How is he supposed to dance without them? Does she not know what glasses are used for?
Your slouching, open up. She says to Noah, she looks at both Jacquie and me.
Somethings to tense. Okay maybe Jacquie's tense but most definitely not me.
Those feet. She says to Henry.
You need to pull your hair back. She says to Amy
And then says piper looks stunned. Well I mean why wouldn't she be? Stand up straight. She says to Heather who then rolls her eyes. Maybe not the best idea.
I'm sorry am I holding you to a standard you find unacceptable?
No sorry. She says quietly.
And where are your uniforms? Why don't you have them on?
I thought the blue tops and black bottoms were for competition only? I say
Well you thought wrong. Miss Angela says putting her hands on her hips.
Well Emily and Michelle let us wear whatever we want. Ozzy says.
Well where are Emily and Michelle now? She replies. Ozzy and I just look at each other not really knowing what to do.

I know your weaknesses and I wanna see your best. Kingston your up. Right now Miss Angela is assessing all of the dancers, seeing what our strengths and weaknesses are.
Alright, no applause. Miss Angela says as Kingston finishes.

She's being super critical of us so I've got to pull out all my best moves. As Noah is turning, which I might add that he's insane at it, miss Angela is standing there rolling her eyes.
Yawn fest. What's yawn fest?
Your just dancing, they want to see personality, so when in doubt, wink it out. Wink it out? What?Henry then starts to flip and miss Angela calls him out and tells him to stop mid flip. She could've seriously injured him. What was she thinking?
I don't know what that was, Kenzie sweetie. Can you please show how acro's done properly.
Miss Angela is more terrifying then any other studio head I've ever worked with.

We have gone through everyone except piper.
To win regionals, we need star power, Lily could you please come out and show them your solo.
So Lily steps up and just breaks out into a solo and not gonna lie it's a lot. Perfect, flawless thank you Lily. That's what the judges wanna see. We are working to that level, your good but good doesn't win regionals. We're only as good as our weakest link, right now our weakest link is Piper. I didn't see any acro  not one Ariel, what's going on?
Im still working on my acro. Piper says to miss Angela.
Still working on it. Ok here's what we're gonna do, Piper your gonna to grab a mat and your gonna work on your acro, everyone else is going to get down and give me ten minutes of plank, until Piper figures  it out. Ten minutes!! I can barley do 5 let alone 10.
Miss Angela is being really harsh, this isn't the next step that I know, I've never seen a studio head be this mean before.

Noah, Jacquie, Henry, Amy and I are all just stretching in studio 1.
Guys miss Angela is the worst. Jacquie says.

Oh not long, just long enough to know that you hate miss Angela.....She's the worst. Thank the lord Kenzie is on the same page as us.
So we are all talking about bad miss Angela is when Finn and summer walk in.

Yes we are, see seems like a very strict, hard working, intense. We all start throwing random words out there.
Um guys she's awful. Summer says. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. So basically our entire team doesn't like her which is great.
Guys seriously what about Lily, do you think she's someone we can trust? Amy asks.
You guys don't know, lily is miss Angela's daughter. That makes so much more sense now, the whole favouritism thing.

And 5,6,7,8. Right now we are working on our ten person dance for regionals and miss Angela wants everything sazzle and dazzle. It's too much.
Whoa whoa Piper what are you doing with your extension? Yeah it's a mess. Lily could you please show Piper how to properly extend, okay thank you. Piper go ahead.
Okay no you still have a lot of work to do to get to Lily's level. We all start to look around at each other with confused faces. What on earth. Piper's extension looks perfectly fine.
I'm sorry, my extension was just as good as Lily's, why do you think she's so much better then everyone else, if your gonna look at extensions, take a look at Harper and Jacquie's, or if you wanna see turns Noah's the one to look at. Im sorry Lily is an okay dancer, but we're all good dancers. Oh no piper. What are you doing. I just don't understand why you think she's the best dancer because she's not. Piper finishes.

Well then your delusional, why don't you sit off to the side and watch what real dancers do.
Miss Angela is being extremely unfair right now.

A-troupe into positions. Who's missing? Where's Piper? I'm not sure where Piper is but she better show up fast. This team just got back together and we can't afford to loose another member. If things don't get better before regionals, we're in big trouble. Well I guess if some people don't care about regionals, I'll have to do something about that.
Miss Angela already drove out a dancer and we can't let her drive out another.
