Only the sound from the air conditioner and the flipping sound of the pages by Mr Noah occupied his office.
I sat across him with Cassie and three other dancers while Red stood behind him.
He closed the files in front of him and looked up at us.
"You ladies will be coming to LA with me the day after tomorrow" I snapped my head up to look at him at the sudden information.
"Why Mr Noah?" I asked and he steered his eyes to my direction.
"For an interview from the owner of the club himself. I know this is a bit sudden and you have other things planned out but I can bet on your lives that you wouldn't want to miss this interview. Details will be emailed to you by red, you may all leave" I could tell they wanted to ask their questions except Cassie who looked so excited.
"Angel not you" his order halted my movement and I spun around to face him.
He just stared at me blankly with his index resting between his lips and nose.
"Yes Mr Noah" I replied without looking at his eyes.
"Please have a seat" I swallowed and reluctantly went to sit down.
"I have heard a lot about you Angel, one of it being that you're the best dancer in the club. Now enlighten me, is pole dancing a hobby or a talent?"
I didn't know where this conversation was heading towards but a nod from gave me an assurance.
"It's neither Mr Noah. I learnt how to pole dance recently and it's easy for me cause I'm flexible" he remained silent while his dark green orbs watched me making me squirm uncomfortably under his gaze.
"Why Angel?"
"B-because I needed the job Mr Noah" I hate it when I'm being questioned about my job and for his sake I hope he doesn't question my character else I'll forget he's my boss.
"I went through your resumes and you graduated with honors Angel so what stopped you from getting a more decent and professional job?"
I clasped my fingers on my thighs trying to control the emotions building up in me.
"I-i tried Mr Noah but I couldn't get a job to work in a good company. There was always a reason for their rejection" I felt my eyes getting wet.
"Why didn't you try harder?" Now I was really getting annoyed by this conversation.
"I couldn't waste any more time Mr Noah, i- I have bills to take care of and my mother and brother are depending on me, I couldn't waste any more time searching for a job when I could easily just pole dance and get easy cash to take care of my family"
He stayed silent watching me. He stood up from his chair and tucked his hands in his pocket.
"Tell me Angel, have you ever thought about being in the acting industry?" My forehead creased and I tilted my head to look at him.
