Cocoa Whumptober 2021

No. 7 - MY SPIDEY-SENSE IS TINGLING

A/N: Hey everyone! I know this is literally over a year later but while working on prompts for 2022's Whumptober, I got the desire to finish editing this so here you are! I might even end up finishing more of the ones I started for 2021! Anyway I hope you enjoy this! Prompt: helplessness | numbness | blindness Summary: Midoriya has a run in with a serial killer that has a special quirk he uses to kill his victims.

He was warned to be careful when he left for the store. He was warned that there was a killer on the lose. In fact All Might had even had Tsukauchi warn his class about the villain when he had stopped by on official business.

The killer currently had a pile of bodies on his hand that only seemed to keep growing. The victims, as evidence had shown appeared to have been being chased when murdered. The biggest issue that the police were having was that the people being chased should have been able to get help but didn't.

A few of the victims had working cell phones on them while others were proven to have run right by places that could have helped them like hero agencies and even a hospital. There wasn't much footage of the victims but what they did found just confused them more. The victims always look scared out of their minds but the way they moved around the street suggested something was wrong.

The people would move around like they had no idea where they were going and weren't acting rationally. They all seemed confused and none of them were shown using their quirks. So because of all the issues with the killer he, along with everyone else had been warned to avoid the streets- especially at night.

Yet all of those warnings he had got were now useless- the serial killer had been waiting for him.

He been walking down the sidewalk, passing by an ally when he started hearing a strange noise. The noise, was a heavy breathing, mixed with a sound that almost sound like screams. The screams sounded like they were coming from a recording. The device that they were being played on must of been old judging from how the sound cut off every few seconds and the low buzz of static.

He went to check what the noise was- mistake number one, but as soon as he stepped into the shadows of the alley a hand reached out and smacked him in the face. In the second he saw the hand before contact he saw a faint red glow surrounding in. The slap caused him to fall down. Right when he started getting back up again he heard a voice, a song of a killer playing with it's prey.

"R-un run run run! Lose your sight! Lose your voice! Hunt! Hunt! Hunt! The hunters coming for it's food tonight! Hunt! Hunt! Hunt! Cancel your quirk! Cancel your chance! HUNT! HUNT! HUNT! It's time to play! It's time to silently scream! HUNT! HUNT! HUNT! Over time lose your touch! Lose all! TILL YOU CAN"T RUN ANYMORE! HUNT! HUNT! HUNT!"

His second and probably most fatal mistake was not calling for help in his shock of the situation. It seemed like something you always read about happening but never actually experienced. Although with his luck he shouldn't have been surprised.

Right when he got back on his feet a jolt of pain shot up his chest. The feeling continued to run through his veins until it stopped and in the next second his vision was no more.

He couldn't see... that wasn't possible... a quirk. He reached up towards his face before waving the hand in front of it. Yup, he couldn't see. Everything was fine... he was just alone on the street... at night... completely blind... with a serial killer... he was doomed.

With that thought in mind he decided he needed to use his last hope of being save. He gathered the deepest breath he could before letting out one of the loudest screams he could... only nothing came out.

He fell backwards against the wall in his shock. Was he also deaf... no he could hear the sound he made when he crashed into the wall... so mute then.

Wait the song the killer was singing a few seconds ago. Lose your sight- check. Lose your voice- another check. Wait... cancel your quirk... he tried turning his quirk on only for nothing to happen- the familiar buzz of energy wasn't there.
