As I'm lying on Kai's bare chest, tracing his abs, my phone rings and rush to pick it up.
"Hello?" I answer in annoyance.
"Hello, love."
"Klaus! Where have you been!" I ask, sitting up.
"I'm coming back. The boundary spell was taken down so you need to be careful."
"What? Why was is taken down?" I ask.
"Who is that?" Kai asks groggily, sitting up.
"It's Klaus." I respond.
"The witch who put it up was killed." Klaus explains from the phone. "I'm heading into the apartment complex; I'll be there to explain everything in a minute."
Klaus hangs up and I sigh, setting the phone down on the nightstand.
"The boundary spell is down. And Klaus is heading back." I inform Kai.
"As in right now?" Kai asks.
"Shit— yes." I panic, hurrying to find my clothes from the floor of the bedroom.
Kai rushes to the living room where our shirts are, and I run out after him. That's when I hear the doorknob click and I quickly put on my sweatshirt, vamp-speed to the door, and open it myself.
Klaus quickly rushes in as Kai gets on his shirt and smiles innocently.
"I don't think that they'll be after you anymore, but I don't know for sure." Klaus explains.
I walk over to him, and sit on the couch next to Kai.
"I offered the sirens a good deal, but if it doesn't work out, they'll come after you again. That's why we need to kill them."
"What was the deal?" I ask curiously.
"I offered them the Salvatores instead of you." He admits causally.
"What? There's no way Cade is going to take them over us." I say.
"The only reason it may work is because Stefan is a ripper. You don't know how powerful he can become." Klaus smiles in memory.
"So you are gone for an entire day and all you did was distract the sirens for a moment?" Kai asks angrily.
"I was gone a mere 24 hours, witch boy. There's only so much one man can do." He fake smiles. "I apologize to Stella for making you stay here with him for so long."
I glance up at Klaus and back to Kai, clearing my throat. "You should be."
"For now I'll put up my own boundary spell, but only to keep things out. So we can have some freedom." Kai glances at Klaus.
"Get to it then." Klaus says. "I'll have to leave again go make sure everything goes according to plan."
Klaus heads towards the door and then paused. "Oh, and I didn't forget.." He reached into his jacket and pulls out two blood bags, tossing them to me.
"Oh my god!" I exclaim. My vampire face forms and my fangs extend just at the sight of the blood.
"I shall be on my way." Klaus leaves, slamming the door closed as he does.
I rip open the blood bag, and drink every last drop. Kai walks over and I hand him the second blood bag. He does the same.
"You know we can just leave now." Kai says.
I shake my head. "It's too dangerous. You need to put up the boundary spell."
"I will. I just need a little bit of your help."
