A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT

Just so you guys know, this is not an update.

I want to share with you why I did these awards, first of all, I love reading, Action-Adventure is my all-time favorite genre, followed by erotica.

Now I had a profile that got deleted in 2019 and I made this one back in 2020 at the height of the pandemic and that's when I ventured out into the werewolf and vampire world because being in quarantine I had nothing better to do than read. The news reports got so bad that I didn't want to watch television anymore, so reading was my escape.

As I ventured off into unknown waters on Wattpad, I came across a lot of books that have millions of reads and praises but when I read the book myself, I didn't see what the big deal was.

But I fell into the world of undiscovered gems and I was amazed by some of these authors and their works and I felt that these books deserve to be read. So I came up with the Banana Awards and I believe in constructive criticism and honesty.

So not because we're friends and I enjoy speaking with you doesn't mean your book is gonna sail through my awards with perfect scores.

I am following some of these awards on Wattpad and I see where some books are winning with perfect scores when I jumped into the book myself, there were obvious mistakes, I'm talking about huge mistakes. And then I realized, the host and those people are friends and they are biased towards their friends.

Now in my award, I make sure I re-read the judges' reviews, and I also look over the score sheet to see if it is fair and so far I agree with the judging results.

Don't get me wrong, I may have seen a few grading that I would have added a point or taken a point in if I had judged but I haven't had one judge who gave a score so far-fetched that I had to go, damn, what was she/he thinking.

I encourage my judges to be truthful with their reviews.

My advice for the writers in my award, especially the ones whose books didn't get the marks they'd hoped, is to take some of the advice the judges made and apply them so that their works can get better.

And for the writers whose books are almost professional, I advise you to get an editor and try and self-publish your books. Don't wait on vultures to steal your work.

There is this one person who is stealing other people's ideas and putting them in his books and people think he is so much of a great writer but he keeps plagiarising.

I know this because I have been a judge on Wattpad for a while and I remember great books that I have read. Then I saw this guy publish this book on Wattpad and when I read it, his chapters were word for word the same thing that two other authors had in their books that were published years before his book. So I messaged this thief and called him out.

He was shocked but he still hasn't removed the chapters. So I reported his work to Wattpad. My next move is to contact the authors who he has stolen from.

So guys, if you don't like your score in my award because you got a higher score somewhere else, know that our intentions here at the Banana Awards are unbiased. We only want to help you guys to get better at your crafts.

Have a good day.

Love ~ Kris🍌
