Theo was dead serious about spending a sickening amount of money. If I'm frank, it was alarming how ready he was to send me off to blow his hard-earned cash, "He must be a gift giver." Chas rattles off right as we walk into the dress shop. Syd nods in agreement, me still holding the black card in my right hand. Theo gave a passing kiss while he rushed off to the office. In the minutes he said he said hello and goodbye to everyone, I gained the keys to the car as well. He wanted me to have it for anything I buy, and to get around town without worry, "Hunter keeps trying to get me to spend his money. It took me cutting the card in half for him to back off." And it's only been two days.
Syd breaks into the conversation right as a crazy sales lady rushes up to us, "The bears love to give gifts. It's in our nature. Theo is probably excited that you finally agreed to receive, and the more you buy of things you like, the more he can understand what to spoil you with later. The only thing he knows for sure that you like, Eos, is flowers and ice cream."
Mrs. Feltner decided not to join us today. She wanted to wear something she'd bought a couple months prior. Now that I'm here I'm kind of glad. I think this is the first girl's day we've ever had, "I guess that makes sense. I'm not about money, though. I'd rather just have enough to live then move on with life."
Chas opens her mouth to respond, but the sales lady interjects with a high-pitched hello. She's a beautiful girl, shoulders back, poised and well groomed. I love the way she's done her hair, a flowing but solid style that outshines the pony I'm sporting. Every inch of her outfit has intention, even the thickness of the watch against her blazer. Wow, she's perfect, "Good afternoon, ladies! I'm Bella. I'll be your designer and stylist, this is Gia, she's, my trainee." Bella waves to a younger girl standing next to her. Her confidence isn't presence, her smaller form hiding behind the trainer, "First and foremost, please walk the boutique to get an idea of what you'd want. I have some books here as well for you. After that, one at a time I'll have a consultation, sizing, and fabric choices. You also have full choice to say 'I trust you, Bella! Do me right!' and I'll make something perfect for you."
"Um..." I raise my hand like we're in school, Bella turns her head with a gracious smile, "I never done anything like this. Would your trainee be able to guide me through it a little more?"
Bella looks back to Gia. Gia gives a shallow nod and steps forward, "Anything you need Ms. Dextral. For you two ladies, will you be needing extra assistance?"
"No, I've done this a couple times." Chas waves her hand with a subtle laugh, Syd saying the same. She's done this before? Now that I think about it, I don't know much about Chas before he life with the wolf. Her ability to fill the air with words but really be saying nothing at all is stunning, and now showcasing my lack of the correct questions.
Mannequins with dresses line the walls, then some piled in the middle. Gia guides me through each style, the perks, cons, and even the subtle things I wouldn't have noticed. I was impressed when she went to the estimated weight it would be on my shoulders, "You are very knowledgeable." I blurt when she goes into the way a dress will move against my leg when I dance.
"You could say that. I've been in this dress shop since I was a kid. My mom, Bella, has groomed me into the perfect saleswoman. I could probably tell you down to the stitch that sitting in this shop." She drops that conversation continuing to the next dress, her hands grab just the right points to show the movement, then lifts to go into the underneath, "This dress will be hot. Europe sit's around nine degrees c this time of year. The underneath is made for below zero temps. A wonderful winter dress if you're attending something in the snow. You'll want something that has a little weight for warmth, but enough flow for a good breeze to keep you overheating. Not to mention the temperature is perfect for a strapless number and shawl to bring out those collar bones."
