Her true friend had run away. She had no one left. No one to call her 'Foster'. No one to tease her. No one to truly comfort her.
"Why, Keefe?! Why?!" Her thoughts kept shouting.
"Hey, Sophie." A voice interrupted her from her brooding session. Sophie turned. It was Biana and Dex.
"Hey guys. Any news about Keefe? Is he back?" Sophie asked.
Dex looked down, while Biana shook her head. "No. Sorry, Sophie." Dex muttered. "But, we were wondering whether you wanted to join us!" He said.
"Yeah, we're having a sleepover at Everglen. Wanna come?" Biana asked.
Sophie shook her head. "No. Sorry. I'm too sad."
"Soph, that's why you need this distraction."
"What I NEED is Keefe to come back!" Sophie shouted.
"All right, Biana, let's go!" Dex and Biana left. "Bye!"
Sophie shook her head. What was wrong with them?! While she was desperately looking for her friend using the spyball, her friends were having sleepovers? Was she the only one worried about Keefe? Was she the only one who missed him?
Was she the only one who needed him?
Her heart hurt, thinking that she had just read the note and not even bothered to find him properly. And weren't Fitz and Keefe best friends? Was Fitz even trying? Why did she feel so broken? She had been kind, loved -
