flashback
"hey fireflies, i have a present for you two!" this was my dad, right before the accident.
"coming!" I yelled running down the hall to the stairs with my sister Sophie by my side. We looked at each other, still running to the edge, when mother came out of nowhere. we accidently knocked into her and she fell. And fell And fell. And fell. All the way down the stairs.
"mum!"
"vanessa!" we all yelled simultaneously as we ran to her unmoving body. "oh no, she's dead. no no no no no no no no no no no no no. vanessa! no, my love no!!" father screamed, hugging mothers cold corpse. "no." we all cried and knew the same thing. It was my fault, i had been the last to knock mother, i had initiated the run, i had made sophie look at me. i killed my mother. everyone resented me, all but the bookshop owner. even agatha, and she was the kindest girl i knew.
end flashback
so, on the 31st of october, i ran to the bookshop, slurs being thrown at me as if they were nothing. sitting out front was my perfect older sister. my polar opposite twin. she was talking to two boys in our class as i trotted in.
"good morning miss deauville."
"good morning y/n."
"any new horrors in that box of goodies?"
"nothing you haven't read thousands of times."
"aw darn"
"but i did find a few older ones on the fairytail side, but i know that's more your sister."
"oooh the school for good but mostly evil. thats a good one, i think i might take this, id settle for this over cinderella any day."
"ah, you found it"
"found what? who's s.g.e.?"
"not who, what. The School for Good and Evil."
"The what?"
"don't tell me you've never heard of it off your sister?"
"where is it?"
"no one knows. another time, another world. but legend has it its where the true story behind every great fairytail begins."
"huh"
"the good trains heroes."
"eeh"
"the evil trains villains"
"ahhh, thats more like it, can i go there?"
"leave a note in the wishing tree and maybe."
"sweet, will do tonight."
"good luck" deauville said as i walked out the door and my sister came in.
I raced home, packed a bag and got my quills and ink out. i started to write a letter.
Dear S.G.E.
as a person who has a very bad home life and have heard about your new openings, i would like to create a submission. I don't mind which division, just get me out of here.
Yours Truly,
y/n of Gavaldon.
i folded up the note and put it in an envelope. by the time the letter was done i was called to tea, where i ate quickly and ran to my room, nothing out of the ordinary. I clasped my case, jumped from the window and ran. i ran and ran and ran and ran to the wishing tree, slipped my letter in to the furthest point of the name carving section and sat down. I sat by the wishing tree for about 20-30 minutes before i heard rustling, and felt as if i was being lifted off my feet by a pair of claws. I looked up to see a terrifying looking bird, but to me it was beautiful in every way.
It then turned to day as we glided through the clouds. In the distance i saw a bright looking school. disgusting. and a dark and terrible school. wonderful. from about 50 meters from the ground, it plonked to the water. i giggled as i went down and dove into the water. my feet felt ground and i stood up to see a handsome looking boy-ish looking man shirtless.
