Piper's POV~

Rose Callahan hadn't changed a bit since high school. She was still beautiful and friendly looking. Her blonde hair covered her shoulders and she wore a flowing floral dress. Mack was out, and we were discussing wedding details. "How many people are you inviting?" Rose asked, looking up at me from her notebook. I shrugged. "Not many people. I'd say around 60." She nodded, and made a note of it. Jen smiled. "We need to go wedding dress shopping." Rose smiled too. "Yes, of course. When do you want to schedule that for, Piper?" I tilted my head. "I need to get in touch with all my bridesmaids first because I need a lot of opinions." "How many bridesmaids?" "Four, including Jen." "That reminds me," said Jen. "I need to come up with a bad-ass maid of honor speech." I pulled out my phone and sent a group text to my girlfriends: Stacey, Bailey, and Talia, and set up a date for us all to go to the bridal shop and find me a wedding dress. And the date is tomorrow. Good lord.

Mack's POV~

I looked at my watch. "He'll show up, man." Eddie reassured me. I sighed. "I don't know." We were waiting for my dad to meet us at the bar, and he was taking longer than expected. After several minutes (and beers) later, he finally walked in. He slid beside me in the booth. "Sorry it took so long." Dad said. "I was..." "Busy arguing with Mom?" I guessed. He frowned. "Here I am trying to help my son form a marriage while mine is falling apart." "Here, dude." Isaac handed him a beer. "It sounds like you need it." I sat up straight. "The reason you're all here tonight is because as you already know, I'm getting married soon." Isaac groaned. "Stop rubbing it in, Mack Attack, some of us are still on Match.com." I ignored him. "And obviously I need some groomsmen." Isaac's eyes lit up. "Dude, we'd be honored." "Anything for you." Eddie agreed. Dad looked at me in disbelief. "Me?" I nodded. "Of course. You're my dad and honestly, just having you show up to my wedding would mean a lot to me." Eddie sipped his beer. "How many bridesmaids are there?" Shit. I don't know. Wait, Piper mentioned...fuck. "Four." I muttered. "I'm still short one." "There's no one who could fill a spot?" Isaac asked. I thought. Well, I could at least ask him.

"Hold on." I got up from the table and went to the quietest corner to make a phone call. It barely rang before a receptionist picked up. "Watson Accounting Firm, how may I help you?" I coughed. "Hi, yes, is David in?" "Yes, sir. May I ask who's calling?" "Um, yeah. Tell him I'm Piper's fiancee." There was silence and then a deep voice answered. "Hello?" "Hi, David. It's Mack, Piper's fiancee." "Hi, Mack, how's it going?" "Listen, I'm in need of one more groomsman." There was a pause. "You want me to...be one of your groomsmen?" "Yes." I said confidently. "In fact..." I looked over at Isaac and Eddie and came to the realization that I couldn't pick one over the other to be my best man. "...would you like to be my best man?" There was a longer pause. "Mack, I am incredibly honored you would ask me. I know it would mean the world to my cousin, and it means the world to me. I accept." For once in my life, I finally have everything figured out.

Piper's POV~ the next day

I stomped out of the fitting room with a frown. "This isn't the one." Perched on the couch, anxious to see my wedding dress were Stacey, Bailey, Talia, Jen and Rose. Rose had her notebook in her lap and was studying the dress carefully with her eyes narrowed. Bailey shook her head in horror. "No, definitely not." Talia smacked Stacey on the arm. "The one you picked sucked ass, Stace." Stacey scoffed. "You can suck a dick, Talia." "Enough!" I said in exasperation. I trudged back into the fitting room to try on Bailey's choice. A mermaid style dress which I didn't care for. I walked back out, noticing that the stairs that led up to the fitting rooms and the mirrors surrounding it made it look like a stage. Hmm. My arms at my sides, I stared at my bridesmaids expectantly. "Well?" "It's fabulous." Bailey said immediately. Talia rolled her eyes. "Obviously you would think so, you picked it." "And I think it's fabulous." I turned around to look in the mirror and sighed. "Sorry, Bailey. I don't like it." "Whatever." said Bailey. "Next." "Mine's next." said Talia proudly. "And I know Piper will absolutely adore it." Bailey turned to Talia and crossed her arms. "Like how you absolutely adore sucking dick?" I went back into the fitting room before I could hear her answer. I slipped on Talia's choice of dress and gasped in awe.

The dress was stunning. I went back out to show everyone and Talia smiled. "I'm good at what I do." "Yeah," said Stacey. "And you're good at sucking dick." "Enough about how much dick I suck!" Talia exclaimed so loudly that a few people turned around in horror. "Keep it PG, girls." Jen warned, her hand holding her chin. Rose looked at the dress. "It gives me a kind of Great Gatsby feel." I nodded. "That's what I like about it. Good job, Talia." I put on my white heels and my veil, and looked in the mirror once again. This was the dress. The straps were soft, the fabric hung loosely around my body and let me move freely. But there was still something missing. "The dress and everything is perfect." I said. "But there's something I want to change." I examined my hair, which wasn't at all red anymore, but my natural hair color. Brown. It had grown and I had decided not to dye it anymore. Rose stood up. "Hurry up, Daisy Buchanan." she said. "I know exactly what you need."

"Holy fuck." I whispered as I saw my hair in the mirror. Rose took me to the hair salon and had to convince me multiple times that what I really wanted was a pixie-cut. "Right?" said Rose. I got up out of the salon chair and embraced her. "Thank you so much for everything, Rose." She laughed. "Don't be thanking me just yet. We still have the rest of your wedding to plan." Yeah we did. In spite of everything that's happened to me recently, a physical change is a change that doesn't show how much pain and stress I have experienced.
