18| Percy and I Battle Our Jerk Relative

As we walk on the coast line, I'm a bit tired of running so far. We stop and see Ares, his motorcycle rumbled beside him, its headlight turning the sand red.

Ares: 'Hey, kid. You were supposed to die.'

Percy: 'You tricked me. You stole the helmet and the master bolt.'

Ares: *grins* 'Well, now, I didn't steal them personally. Gods taking each other's symbols of power – that's a big no-no. But you're not the only hero in the world who can run errands.'

Y/N: 'Who did you use? Clarisse? She was there at the winter solstice.'

Ares: 'Doesn't matter. The point is, Percy, you're impending the war effort. See, you've got to die in the Underworld. The Old Seaweed will be mad at Hades for killing you. Corpse Breath will have Zeus's master bolt, so Zeus'll be mad at him. And Hades is still looking for this...'

He placed a ski cap on the handlebars of his bike. Immediately, the cap transformed into a elaborate bronze war helmet.

Grover: 'The helmet of darkness.'

Ares: 'Exactly. Now where was I? Oh yeah, Hades will be mad at both Zeus and Poseidon, because he doesn't know who took this. Pretty soon, we got a nice little three-way slugfest going.'

Annabeth: 'But they're your family!'

Ares: *shrugged* 'Best kind of war. Always the bloodiest. Nothing like watching your relatives fight, I always say. I can't have you taking that bolt to Olympus. You just might get those hardheaded idiots to listen to you. So, I've got to kill you. Nothing personal, and you Son of Zeus.'

He sends a boar at us, and Percy kills it, and he made a deal with Ares. If he loses the bolt and helmet are Ares's, if he wins, the bolt and helmet are Percy's. And now I have to fight, the god of war. Ares goes for Percy's head but he jumps over him, and he slashes down at Ares, but Ares deflected it by the end of his sword hilt.

Ares: 'Not bad, not bad.'

He goes to slash Percy, but Percy jumps away into dry land. I grab my bolt and morph it into an axe, and I jump into the air about fifty metres up, and lightning crackled around me, my eyes glowing blue. I look like Thor right now. I fly straight at Ares, and I slam my axe down at him, but he blocks if with his swords, the sand beneath us blows away, making a huge dust cloud around us, a sonic boom sound was made as our weapons made contact. Ares is gritting his teeth, I am as well. Even thou I am tired, I can still pack a punch. I fly over to Percy, and we watch as the dust clears away.

Ares: 'Son of Zeus, you're not supposed to be that strong. It seems that Zeus made you this strong for a reason. Oh, I know. He probably doesn't want you to end up like that dead tree of a sister, you call.'

I growl in anger, I throw my axe at him and lightning crackles around it as it goes for him, He pulls his swords into a defensive stance, and I smirk. I put my hand on Percy's shoulder and I teleport to my axe, which is in my hand. I throw Percy at Ares, who is in shock, Percy slashes at Ares shoulder. And he screams in pain all that happened in two seconds. I go on one knee on the sand. The roar that Ares made Hade's earthquake look like a minor thing.

Ares: 'You have made an enemy, godling. You have sealed your fate. Every time you raise your blade in battle, every time you hope for success, you will feel my curse. Beware, Perseus Jackson. Beware.'

Shit, he cursed Percy. I know what he is going to turn into, his god form.

Annabeth: 'Percy! Don't look!'

We both close our eyes and move our heads away. The light died down. I am to tired to do anything, and I pass out.
