The Closure

I was certain that I was the luckiest woman in the world. The moment I told my father about the baby, he opened up to me again. He was glad that I was living happily with the Beast. His only regret was trusting someone like Uncle Gwan all his life, whose son proved to be a nuisance. But I couldn't care less about them, they were already gone from our lives. 

I was more excited about the new member who was going to join us. It had hardly been a month and I was already getting impatient to have the baby in my arm. The wait for another eight months seemed long. 

"Now, don't come over to Doohyun's house every day to meet me, okay?" I kissed the grumpy man who was standing in front of me with his hands folded. He wasn't happy that his wife was going to spend the week at her friend's place. 

"Boyoung, do you really have to go for a whole week? Can't you go for an hour or so?" he said throwing his hand up in the air. 

"Oppa," I said holding his face. "Think of this as a time to enjoy your own company, have your own space..." 

"But it's tough to stay away from you," he said frowning. 

"Okay, look... you can also have your friends over," I said. "You can do whatever you want!" 

"Really?" he said raising a brow. 

"Yes, I won't be there to nag!" I said shrugging. 

"Sounds interesting," he said thinking about something. 

"Excuse me, so you're agreeing that I nag?" I said folding my arms. I expected him to tell me that I wasn't a nagging wife but he simply agreed to it?

"No, no, no, honey... you don't, that's why I want you to stay here," he said getting worried. 

Okay, that backfired. I was excited to be with Dohyun after so long and I needed him to have his space while I was away.

"No no, I do... I nag... so you should let me go for a week and have some fun, okay?" I said. 

He had no expression on his face.

"Oppa... what are you thinking about?" I asked. 

"I don't know if I should be happy or sad," he said shrugging. 

"Ah, just be excited... think of all the things you can do when I'm not here," 

He simply nodded and was probably planning something. I smiled and got back to pack my clothes. He had become more clingy to me ever since he got to know that I was pregnant. He was actually clinging to two people at the same time. But as we were spending more and more time together, I felt it was time to start having our own spaces as well. For any healthy relationship, that's an important factor too. It was tough to make him understand that, but he was learning.

"Bye Oppa," I said as he pecked me through the window of the car. 

"Take care," he said as Jae drove ahead.

No matter how excited I was to meet Doohyun and spend time with her, it felt horrible to go away from Oppa. He wasn't the only one who was clingy, I guess I was becoming like him too. I plugged in my earphones and started listening to some music to distract myself. Dohyun wanted to spend some time with me and needed to be there for her too.

I looked out of the window and enjoyed the view of lush grass as the music in my ears made it look like a scene from a movie. I had only begun to sway with the beats when the music suddenly stopped. My phone was discharged.
