In the morning, I woke up to see Evan dozing off beside me. I slowly took off his arm that he wrapped around me. I went to my bathroom to get ready for the day since I had college still. I started to cook breakfast for both Evan and me.
"Mmm, Y/n?" asked Evan as he rose up from the couch.
"Yeah?" I answered.
"What are you doing?" he asked, walking closer.
"I'm making breakfast. I got college I still gotta do, you know?" I said. He hummed as he hugged me from behind.
"Don't you have to study for the high school test?" I asked.
"Yeah, I do. I just have to squeeze in two years of school into a couple of months first," he responded.
"So, you should get ready for that," I said. He walked off to the bathroom to get ready and I finished cooking breakfast. I put one plate for him and one plate for me. I took out my laptop and continued writing one of the essays that my professor wanted me to finish.
"What did you make?" Evan asked as he walked out of the bathroom. I pushed his plate towards him as he made his way to the kitchen island.
"Oooh, crepes. Fancy," he said, grabbing some utensils from the drawer. He started digging in and I was finishing up my breakfast. Once I was finished I put my plate in the sink and went back to writing.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm writing an essay that my professor wanted me to finish so I'm gonna try and finish that up by tomorrow," I said.
"That's nice, I think I gotta go back home to study and learn," he said.
"Alright, I'll see you soon," I said. He quickly finished his food and came over to give me a kiss on the lips before he left for his car. I sighed and continued finishing my essay.
"What you doing?" I turned to the right to see Evan at my window.
"What are you doing?! Aren't you supposed to be studying for your math test at home?" I emphasized on the "home".
"Yeah, but I don't really care about it," he said as he climbed in. He crashed into my bean bag and I continued on with my art project.
"So, are you gonna answer my question or are you gonna make me guess?" he asked, sitting up from the bean bag.
"Take a wild guess," I answered, trying to concentrate on not messing up. He stood up from the bean bag and came closer to me.
"Oh, you're doing your art project. You know what, since I'm here, let me be your DJ for tonight," he said. He went to my speakers and connected his phone to them. He played one of his playlists and put it at a tolerable noise level.
"Pretty sick playlist, huh?" he said.
"Sure thing," I replied. Suddenly there was a knock on my door.
"Y/n? Why is your door locked?" My eyes widened with fear and signaled Evan to get in my closet.
"I-I was changing!" I said, running to the door to open it. I opened the door to reveal my mother. It looked like she just came back from a business meeting not too long ago.
"Well, I want you to get ready to go out in twenty minutes. We're having dinner with the Walters at a fancy restaurant so wear something that's not too...tacky," she said eyeing the clothes I was wearing. She closed the door and left to probably tell my brothers to get ready as well. I let out a sigh of relief and Evan slowly got out of my closet.
"Wow, you're leaving in twenty minutes and I just got here," he said sighing with sadness.
"Oh come on, you were almost caught!" I said getting out an outfit that would be suitable for the dinner.
"Almost is the keyword here," he said grabbing his phone off of my desk.
"I'll talk to you after I get ready for this dinner and maybe you could come over after I come back. And this time you'll come in the correct way instead of climbing into my room," I suggested.
"Awww, but climbing into your room is fun. Having to ring your doorbell and ask to hang out is lame," he complains.
"Yeah, but at least my parents would know that you're here and I won't have to hide you every time they come into my room," I said.
"True, I'll dwell on it, when you're gone to your fancy dinner," he said, getting ready to leave my room. I went over to the window to go say goodbye to him.
"Goodbye, Juliet! I'll come again," said Evan jokingly.
"Goodbye, Romeo!" I played along. I leaned over the window sill and our faces almost touched.
"I'll miss you," said Evan, kissing me on the nose before climbing down to his house.
Finally, I was finished with my paper. I looked at the time to see that it was already lunchtime. I checked my phone to see that Evan texted me if he could come over for dinner. I replied with a yes and I decided that I probably had to go shopping for ingredients to make dinner. I went out to eat at a nearby restaurant and headed to a grocery store. I think I would be making some massaman curry so I bought some chicken and potatoes. Since I couldn't find curry powder in the grocery shop, I went to an Asian store to buy it.
"Y/n? Is that you? Why'd you leave all of the sudden yesterday?" I turned around to see Annie.
"Oh, Evan wasn't...feeling well so we left early," I explained.
"That's a bummer, but we should definitely catch up sometime? Maybe some one-on-one time?" she asks.
"Uhm, I have to check my schedule first but I'll text you if I have any free time," I said. I went into the store and bought a couple of ingredients, snacks, and drinks. Once I paid for the items, I headed back home and started prepping the ingredients. Just as I was about to cut the potatoes, the doorbell rang. I quickly ran over to open the door just to see Evan with a bouquet.
"Hey! I got this bouquet for you," he said, handing me the bouquet.
"Awe, that was very sweet of you, Evan. What's the special occasion?" I asked putting the bouquet into a vase.
"Nothing too special, I just wanted to bring some flowers to my amazing new girlfriend," he said, hugging me from behind.
"Oh man, I didn't even finish making dinner in time for us yet," I complained.
"That's alright, I can help out if it means finishing dinner faster," he said.
"You helping out in the kitchen? Since when were you interested in cooking? Last time I checked, I had to bribe you to even touch a knife," I said.
"Well, let's just say I wanna be helpful and of use to you," he responded.
"Okay, Mr. Helpful, how about cutting up the potatoes and vegetables for me?" I asked.
"That sounds great," he said. I directed him to the cutting board and quickly taught him how to cut it. Once I was finished with that, I went over to start cutting up the chicken.
~A few hours later~
"Ohh, wow, that meal was great," said Evan, stretching after we washed the dishes together.
"See, I told you cooking wasn't too bad," I said. We lay together on the couch while watching a show that was playing on the TV.
"Y/n, have you lost your virginity yet?" he asked, out of the blue.
"What?! No, of course not. I've been stuck in a psych ward for a couple years and I was monitored most of the time. Plus, the people didn't even stay long for me to build a relationship with them," I said.
"So, you haven't even talked to anyone other than your caretaker and your family for the past two years?" he asked.
"Well, I talked to my counselors and psychiatrist as well but other than that I haven't really talked to other people in a while," I said.
"You know, at least you still sound like you know how to interact with people," he said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked inquisitively.
"I uhh, it doesn't mean anything bad, trust me," he said, defending himself.
"Okay then," I responded. Since it was getting darker, my lights were set to automatically dim. I turned the TV off and instead turned on some music instead.
"Y/n?" I turned to look at Evan. He was wearing a Nirvana t-shirt and ripped jeans. His flannel hung loosely on him and his hair was curly and neat.
"Yeah," I responded. He put his hand on my cheek and moved closer to me. He put his head against mine.
"I wanna lose my virginity to you," he revealed.
