I walked back to my condo with my mind racing with thoughts about what just happened. I can't believe that he just acted so differently compared to when I last met him. I entered my condo and threw my bag onto my couch. I looked out the window and pondered about the times when it was more simple.
"What are you doing?" I asked Evan as he looked like he was going to do something stupid.
"I'm gonna do something cool," he simply replied. He grabbed his skateboard and skated down the stairs only to just fall face down onto the ground. My eyes widened and I quickly ran down the stairs to try and help him up. I helped him up and his nose was bleeding. There was a cut on his lip and that was bleeding as well.
"Evan! Why'd you do that!? You're bleeding!" I exclaimed. He started laughing and put his head against mine.
"Awe, you care about me," he teased.
"Of course, I do. Now get up, we need to clean off your blood," I directed him.
Suddenly, my phone started ringing and I picked it up.
"Hey, Y/n. How was your lecture?" asked Evan.
"Oh, it was okay but I ran into an old friend from the psych ward. That didn't really go so well," I said.
"Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it? If you don't want to talk about it then that's fine too," said Evan, expressing his concern.
"I'll talk about it to you later. You can study for your high school test, I won't keep bothering you," I said.
"Okay, I'll come over tonight. Goodbye," he said.
"Bye." I ended the call and looked over at my bag on the couch. I walked over to grab my laptop. I guess I could start working on my essay early and I could finish up one of my client's art that she requested.
~ Time Skip ~
I yawned as I stretched upwards. I looked at my phone to check the time. It was about 6 PM. I guess I should start cooking or maybe I'll just be lazy and order some food today. I decided to order some boba and Chinese food for dinner. I ordered some extra food since Evan was coming over soon. I heard a knock on the door and I got up to open the door.
"Hey, I brought some old records I found in my closet. We can put them on your record player," suggested Evan.
"Yeah, that sounds great!" I said. I let him into my condo and he put on one of his records on the record player. I closed the door and sat on the couch to continue drawing on my art pad.
"What are you doing?" he asked, looking at my drawing.
"I have a client that requested for me to draw her family. I have to finish this drawing by next week so I decided to just draw the outline and then add details later," I explained. He sat next to me and put his arm around me. He put his head on my shoulder and watched me as I drew. A couple of minutes later, the doorbell rang. Evan got up from the couch to open the door. He came back with bags of food and placed them on the kitchen island. I got up from the couch and I got out two pairs of chopsticks for us to use. Once we started sitting down, we dug into our food.
"So, are you gonna tell me about that old friend?" asked Evan.
"Oh yeah, I basically met him again at my college lecture. His name is Louis Partridge. After that, we went to a coffee shop to catch up a bit. But he seemed really upset to know that I was dating you and that you weren't in a coma anymore," I explained.
"Remind me how you met him again?"
"I met him in the psych ward when I first was transferred there. I was alone and basically the only teenager there since most people were adults already. He was the only other teenager so I decided to be friends with him. He had multiple personalities disorder so he would switch up very often. It kinda felt like I had more than one friend though, so that was kinda nice I guess. But then a year later, he was transferred to a new facility since his parents were moving and they wanted him to be closer to their family since he was really close with his younger sister. He moved the day he told me he was moving and I never saw him since," I said.
"Wow, it seems that you built a strong relationship with him just for him to leave you. Did you ever feel like that when I went into that coma?"
"Yes. I missed you all the time. I missed it when we would listen to Arctic Monkeys while it rained. I missed the times you would break into my room and make me listen to new music you found. I missed you when the cafeteria served your favorite food. After the year, Louis left, I started thinking a lot about you and what could've been us. I tried being friends with other people but they would just...ignore me. I never felt so much like a ghost that if I killed myself then it wouldn't make much of a fucking difference. But my older brothers were there to help me and my parents just abandoned me because I was too troublesome to them. That doesn't matter anymore, what matters now is that you're here, and most importantly, is that you're awake and well," I said. He softly smiled at me and gently placed his hand on my cheek.
"I'm here now, Y/n. Don't be scared to tell me anything. I'll always be here to help you and I'll always love you. If you ever feel sad or angry or anything, you can tell me and I'll be right there with you," he comforts me. I looked into his delicate brown eyes. I placed my hands around his neck and pulled him in.
"I love you, Evan Peters," I whispered before giving him a kiss on the lips. He pulled me closer by the waist to deepen the kiss but before we could continue, we both pulled apart.
"We should probably eat before the food gets cold," said Evan. I chuckled at what he said and we began eating while talking about the latest TV shows.
"I fucking love Rick and Morty. One of the best-animated TV shows hands down," I said.
"I do agree, Rick and Morty are pretty much a top-tier animated TV show but what about Avatar: Last Airbender? That TV show was a pretty banger," said Evan.
"Yes! It's a great TV show but Korra was mid. That TV show kinda ruined the universe for me," I said.
"Agreed." Suddenly, my phone lit up with a notification. I opened it up to see that Eb/n was getting married to the girl that he liked from the coffee shop. The wedding was going to be next month which was very soon so it seemed like they already planned out a lot of the wedding already. "What is it?"
"My oldest brother's getting married next month," I said, showing him a picture of the happy couple on my phone.
"Wow! Congrats! I didn't know he was dating her, I thought he was dating that other girl from high school," he said.
"They definitely didn't work out. Once you were in that coma, his ex-girlfriend cheated on him with his best friend because he wasn't spending enough time with her," I explained.
"Oh, why wasn't he spending enough time with her? And of course, she cheats on him, I feel like Eb/n is too much of a pure soul to fall out of love with his girlfriend," said Evan.
"I was having a hard time and Eb/n wanted to be there for me as much as he could so he would sometimes cancel plans with his girlfriend ahead of time and said that he would use that time to care for me or take me to the psychiatrist," I said.
"I can see why she would get upset but she needed to understand that you're his sister and you needed someone with you," said Evan.
"Yeah, I guess she didn't understand that but his new fiance is very nice. I actually got to meet her in person last week and she knew about my mental health and offered to help me whenever I needed it. So, it was very nice of her to say that and it meant a lot to me. Actually, her cafe is nearby here, we can go visit it one day if you want," I suggested.
"That would be nice! Is her cafe like the study and catch-up kinda cafe or a different kind?" asked Evan.
"It's actually a cafe that's conjoined with a library and bookstore so that's very cool," I answered.
"Yeah, that definitely sounds fun, we should go there someday," he said, "But, I also kind of need help in math."
"Which part?"
"Algebra 2."
