this oneshot was supposed to be posted on george's birthday last week but im LAZY and/or busy and haven't had time to edit it SO here you go, almost a week later. it's a good one though, worth the wait. i think y'all will like it :) ok bye ENJOY!!

George's eyes squinted in attempt to keep the budding sunlight out of his eyes. He rolled over in bed, rustling around his dark blue bedsheets in the process. He picked up his phone off his nightstand, opening it to loads of 'Happy Birthday' texts from friends and family.

George felt a smile form on his sleepy face, a warm feeling filling his chest as he read through all the sweet birthday messages. And this birthday was a really big one for George: not only because he was turning twenty six (he's 'halfway in the grave', as Quackity would say), but also because it was his first birthday in Florida.

His first birthday surrounded by his best friends, in his new forever home.

With the sudden giddiness and excitement of what his friends possibly planned for his birthday, George jogged downstairs. He found both Dream and Sapnap in the living room, the pair going absolutely ham on a box of mixed donuts.

"Hey!" Sapnap said, eyeing George first and getting up from the couch, donut in hand.

"Hey." George said, looking over at Dream.

Dream smiled at George, ripping a donut in half as he too stood up from the couch.

"Happy birthday, man!" Sapnap said, giving George a half-hug and patting him on the back.

"Happy birthday, George." Dream said, putting his split donut down to give George a proper hug after Sap.

George relaxed into the hug, content to just be in this moment with these two dweebs.

"Thank you. You guys...got donuts?" George asked, peeking over Dream's shoulder at the box of nearly-empty pastries.

"Yeah, Krispy Kreme." Sapnap said enthusiastically.

"Did you guys eat all of them?" George half-joked.

"Well, we were supposed to get a dozen, but the guy who gave us the donuts was all crabby and rude and he said they only had eight left." Sapnap said, shrugging.

"So you two ate..." George paused. "Seven donuts??"

Dream chuckled. "Well I only had two-"

"I had five." Sapnap blurted out, already laughing to himself.

"We saved you one, though!" Dream said.

"Wow, thanks!" George said sarcastically, picking up the last strawberry donut and taking a generous bite.

"So..." George started, his voice muffled by the mouthful of donut. "What big plans do you guys have planned for my birthday?"

Dream and Sapnap looked at each other, then they both looked to George.

"Were we...supposed to make big plans?" Sap asked. "I dunno...I thought we'd just chill at home, maybe do a baking stream like you always do on your birthday?"

George's heart sank: he was actually disappointed, and that was a rare occurrence. He usually never had high hopes for most things. He was the type of person to hope for the best, but expect the worst. But right now, he truly was bummed out.
