By the Sea

Luau

Summer was there and the lively city has a new event coming for the next week. It's called Luau: the governor would come to town and all the villagers had to prepare a giant soup for everyone to eat, but first of all for the governor to try. I had to plant lots of new crops, I wanted to give the best so I hoed more and planted melons, radish, red cabbage, starfruit and some sunflowers. I really wanted to have one of them ready and bring it to my lover, Elliott. I loved to give him gift as soon as I can, with products of my land too.

The chickens were growing fast and heathy too, but they didn't still produce eggs.

It was night when a huge earthquake occurred. I didn't have any sort of damage but it was scary. I went to check in the coop and the chicken were a bit scared too so I pet them and got them calm.

Some days later.

"A new passage?" "It's unbelievable I know." Pierre said. "Long ago we could go to the north right up to Robin's house and enjoy some good bath in the spa, but some rocks blocked the passage for years! And now the passage it's free again, thanks to the earthquake."

"So the spa has been fixed? Can I go there already?" "Sure!"

I moved in the north of the town and a man, dressed up like a caveman was looking at me from behind a bush. He was... hiding from me?

"Hey? How are you mr? I'm not gonna hurt you, it's all right" The bearded man got closer

"Hi... I'm Linus... I know you are... Daisy and... you like fishing, right?"

"Yes I love to..." "I wanted to give you this..." he gave me some... worms? "That's very kind of you... wait is this... bait?" "Huh, yes. I always catch good fish with that maybe that can help you too."

I said hi to him and reached the spa. I was alone. There was a huge locker room where I left my clothes and I immerged my self in the hot water. It was soooo relaxing...

"Uhm... hi" a shy voice of a woman was behind me. I didn't notice she was there because of the stream. She was stunningly cute, with red hair and a oval face. "I'm Penny... we didn't get the chance to meet before... I couldn't imagine to find you here...ehm... I live in the trailer in town... the only one actually, with my mum Pam..."

"Nice to meet you Penny... I am Daisy." "I saw you at the flower dance with Elliott... You two are such a good couple..." she said. "I'm her fan, he often come to the library and read his poems... he really is a skilled writer..." It was getting late, me and Penny wore our dresses again and said goodbye.

Luau day came. I prepared a perfect gold star red cabbage to bring for the soup. And a sunflower for my lover. It was time to reach the beach for the event.

I immediately spotted Elliott. "I woke up late, stepped out of the door and found myself in the middle of all this hubbub! I forgot that today was the Luau."

I laughed and gave him the sunflower. "Oh, a present! Thank you!" He was looking at it as if he was trying to get some inspiration from it. Then looked at me. "I'm about to start my novel. I have all in mind but I'm not sure about the genre... I wanted you to choose it" "Me?" he nodded and kissed my forhead... so gently. "I would say... Romance...it's pretty popular and can be key to success...""That's very smart. And it will be easy to find inspiration for this genre." We hugged, my head was right under his chin and the Luau started. Marnie collected the ingredients from all the villagers and I gave my red cabbage, and she cooked it.

"Oh my... that's the best soup I've ever tasted!"

Everyone cheered at Governor's words! It was perfect! We all lined up and had a taste of the soup.
