Egg Festival

The first week passed fast, occasionally I went fishing. I had an excuse to pass by Elliott's cabin after all, why not use it? I realized that he was a very schematic person with his routine: He spent most of the time writing indoors, then he would take a break and go out for a walk on the bridge next to the beach. He often stops and admires the river that passes through Pelican Town. That's where we met yesterday... I had some spare fish to share and I brought some to Willy and some for him. "This is for me? Marvelous!" He said. "The fresh air of this valley is good for body and mind. A quick stroll outdoors always invigorates me." I was happy he was ion good spirit.

I also made new friends. A kind old lady showed up to my door and gifted me a beautiful pot, to use indoors and make grow something special. Her name was Evelyn, also a friend of my grandpa. She said "And don't forget about the festival, this Saturday!" "What festival?""You will receive the invitation soon, from Mayor Lewis..." And so it happened: "The egg festival" huh? I didn't have a Coop yet but I suddenly felt like having one, to have many eggs to be decorated for next year, and lovely chickens that walk around the farm. I wanted to go to Robin's and talk about this project.

Also the parsnips were doing well, I water them everyday and silently watch them grow.

"Hi Daisy, how are you doing?" "Pretty good thanks, I was thinking about building a Coop, right next to the house, would it be possible?" "Sure! It's 34,000g and bring me enough wood, let's see... 300 pieces." I thought that money wasn't the problem but I had to chop down some trees from my field to do it. "Let me grab the wood and let's do it." "Oh yeah! I'll wait."

It took me many days but I was ready to build the Coop, right after the Egg Festival.

That Saturday the square was crowded and the children were happy as ever to start the egg hunt. I glanced at the various stalls with seasonal products and chose a special seed to plant inside the pot that Evelyn gave me: it was a magical seed that would become a different flower for each and every season. It would be ready for summer. I put that in my backpack and I saw Elliott talking with Willy. "Heyyy Daisy! Come here pal!" Willy said. "Hi there. How's the fishing going? And... the writing?" "I can't seem to find the inspiration to begin writing my novel...unfortunately" "I'm sorry to hear that." "Fishing is good though" Willy laughed. I smiled but Elliott seemed a bit worried, he looked at me and smiled "Taking breaks from work can make you more productive in the long run. So I came here." We looked in the eyes and he got closer to whisper in my ear "I enjoy seeing you so relaxed, my dear." I had goosebumps all over my body, but I didn't got away this time, I wanted to enjoy his perfume; probably the shampoo he uses for his long and fluent hair.

The Mayor called everyone in the middle of the square! It was time to begin the egg hunt. Mayor Lewis insisted that I participated too, and I noticed that Abigail was also in the hunt with some kids.

3...2...1... Go! I went around a couple of houses and looked through the bushes. Checked every corner and found in total 5 eggs. I think I did my best because they were really small and it was hard for me to get more.

Abigail won the hunt. I soon discovered that she wins every year so I smiled and took the second price who were some potatoes to plant.

I waved to Willy and Elliott and went back home to set up everything for the Coop, Robin would start working on that in a few hours.
