"And, that's it. That's where it ends." says the detective."Wow, a monster? But, monsters don't exist?" says the intern.
"Exactly, all I could think of is that, maybe the victim took drugs and was experiencing hallucinations." says the detective.
"But what about the tradition of the people there? Do you think that was a hallucination as well? Or there was a tradition but there was no monster involved?" says the intern.
"Well, there's no way to know for sure. We have very little evidence on what's actually going on, all we know for sure is that, they went on a fishing trip and never came back." The detective says looking back at the case file.
"But wait, where did we even get the journal if they never made it back?" the intern asks.
"They said a random person turned it in to the police. And all that person said was that he found it at the shore, and that he picked it up and read it. And the name of the owner was written there and he knew that he was missing so he turned it in as evidence." says the detective.
"So what's the plan? What are we going to do?" says the intern.
"Well, I'm planning to go to that island in two days to see what's actually going on."
"oh ok, so what are we going to need? So I can ready our things."
"Sorry intern but I plan to go on this one alone. This one just doesn't seem right to me." says the detective.
"But sir, I always go with you? I always help you, and go to the scene. How can I help if I won't know what that place actually looks like." says the intern.
"I know, but this one could be a lot more dangerous than we think. And we don't even know if it's safe or not." says the detective.
"But sir. I can handle myself, and plus we will have walkie-talkies. So if anything bad happens we can always signal for help." says the intern.
The detective sighs and says, "You really are stubborn, huh? Fine, but if things get dangerous you are going to get out of there, with or without me you will leave. Got that?"
"Yes, sir!" says the intern.
"But for now, we have to figure out who we're at the Dock at the time, so we can ask more questions. And hopefully get more information. So, we will be going to the Dock to ask if we can get the footage from the security camera that day." says the detective.
"Ok, sir. I'll go ready the things we need." says the intern.
"Ok, you do that. I'll be out in a minute, I just have to make a call." the detective says.
The intern nods. He leaves the room and shuts the door.
The detective dials a number on his phone.
"Hello? Yeah, it's me. Don't worry about the tradition, I've got it all under control." the detective says as he rolls up his sleeve revealing a big scar on his left arm.
"Yes, nobody will find out about our tradition. Oh, and when I come over there, we'll have a new guest. So prepare the people and tell them we have our new victim for our tradition. And make sure that this time he won't get the chance to escape. Not like last time. I didn't even had to convince the kid to come with me, he volunteered on his own. How stupid." He says while chuckling to himself.
"Well, I have to go. I still need to do my job and investigate about this, even if its completely useless. Bye" the detective says as he ends the call.
The detective puts on his coat and leaves his office.
