The Tradition

Chapter 8

"Guys wake up its time to get out of bed. We all had enough rest." says Avery.

Francis yawns and says, "Ugh is it morning already? Its still dark outside."

Tyler looks at his watch and says, "Uhm it's 10:30 a.m. But it looks dark outside, because the island is quite foggy, and its cloudy today as well."

They all got ready, and went to the front desk to talk about what happened last night. All of them has a lot of questions, and hopefully the old man has the answers. The old man was at the front desk.

"Hi, so we have a lot of questions, but first of all. Why did you cancel our night fishing? And why were you acting like that?" Andrew asks to the old man.

The old man let's out a sigh and says, "Because I was trying to protect you and your group."

They all look at each other in confusion. Mike then asks, "What do you mean by that?"

"Let me explain, in this little island of ours has a monster, and it hunts humans. It doesn't eat us, it just kills. And one of the people who live here, has informed me that he has spotted the monster walking around again. And that usually means, it's hunting. That's the reason why I cancelled." says the old man.

Everybody just stood there in shock.

"But why didn't you tell us sooner?" asks Luke.

"If I had told you there was a monster, would you believe me? And if I did tell you guys, you would probably disobey me and still go fishing. I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys sooner, I just wanted to make sure, you all are safe." says the old man.

Avery then asked what the monster looked like, the old man then describes the monsters features. And it was the same monster that Mike saw last night.

"Hah! I told you guys I wasn't lying!"
Says Mike.

The old man then spoke, "Oh wait, I forgot one more detail. The monster also has pitch black eyes."

Andrew then realized something, and Andrew stood there in shock.

"What is it? Why do you have that expression?" asks Francis.

Andrew turned to luke and said, "Luke, what did you say you saw at the peephole?"

Luke got confused in what Andrew is trying to point out. Then Luke says, "All I saw was pitch black- Oh.."

Luke stood there terrified, realising that what he saw wasn't the dark hallway. What he saw was the eyes of the monster.

They discuss about what happened last night and trying to connect the dots, while they are talking they hear loud thuds which seems to get closer and closer, then they hear a strained, raspy voice saying, "Nobody likes me.. They all left me..."

All of them looked at each other confused. The sound grew louder and louder, until they see a terrifying monster saying, "Nobody likes me.. They all left me..."

All off them stood there in shock, and then Francis says, "Ew, I can see why."

Tyler yells, "Run!"

They all ran outside and saw all the townspeople gathered outside saying, "Sacrifice! Sacrifice!"

The old man behind them then says, "Let the tradition commence! Sacrifice them!"

The friends began to run and everybody was after them, they then ended up in the forest.
