Dialga is one of my top 6 favorite pokemon. This lord of time is a beast with a special or physical set. In my opinion, its one of the best designed legendaries. Let's get to the good points:
1: the design:
dialga is a great design. Not a dinosaur, not quite a dragon, but something definitely unearthly and powerful. I've always enjoyed time travel because I'm a doctor who fan.
2: its stats: dialga has a nuclear sp attack stat that allows it to hit hard. even sp walls have trouble taking dialgas mighty sp attacks. Its defense is also formidable, which allows it to tank physical hits. That's fortunate for dialga, because most ground type and fighting type moves, the only types it is weak to, are primarily physical moves, the most common being earthquake and close combat. Yet its sp def is usable as well, allowing it to be effective with bulk up or calm mind sets. Assualt vest also works wonders for dialga.
3: its moveset:
Dialgas signature move is kinda unusable, as most charge moves are, but it learns plenty of other great physical and special moves. These include flash cannon, earth power, aura sphere, dragon pulse, earthquake, power gem, and metal burst.
4: it's typing.
Dialgas typing gives it incredible defenses. Steel resists a lot, and so does dragon. Even with the whole type change when fairy came along, dialga still only has two weaknesses: ground and fighting. Unfortunately, these move types are relatively common. The 1 con:
1: its ability and hidden ability could be better:
Dialga has pressure, which is a decent ability, but I wish it had a more fitting ability for a time lord. (Yes, I just said time lord.) something that had an effect on time like making priority moves go last would have been cool. And telepathy? I don't see preferring that ability over pressure, since it's really only useful in doubles.
